Ah what can I say we have the same, and armed response, ADT and still there was a break-in last week two houses from us. They are still in the vicinity because my one neighbor came over last night warning my husband. At the back of my house is a huge greenbelt, some of them stay there overnight. We are prisoners in our own homes. Go and have a look at some of my pictures I took a few and put them up there for a friend of mine in the US, she couldn't believe that we stay in circumstances like this in SA.

My dear beloved country that are going for the dogs! You should take a look at my home page, I took some pictures of or 'Malls' I live in Richards Bay where do you live, there is another SA here, if you are interested, because the SA aren't that active here.

Most people think we make all this up. we went away for the weekend and still asked a friend to stay in our house, just to make sure. if i had the money, i would immigrate.

Hi,Zorrogirl. Please don't be nervourous even at home.My house has no such a security system but i just feel safe.Have heard a story what its name i have forgotten i'm sorry. It says a rich man afraid of the poor to steal him.So he make all the advanced security facility around his house. However his garden always broken by the stones which were thrown by the children.Because they want to knon what in such a big and high wall. The rich man felt very worried about these things. Then he asked for a wiseman. He said to him tear part such security wall.He was very mysterious. But he had done it.And he invited the poor children to come to his garden to plant beautiful roses. From then on ,there are full of singing and smiling in the garden even at night the children to protect their roses. One a thief wanted to go into the richman's room. However he was caught by the children whom were looking after their roses. The rich man lose nothing but gain much from it.Do you agree?Give and gain are equal.Though the thieves are more and more ,friends are too.Make a good relationship with our neighbours maybe more useful than the high-tech safety doors. It's just my foolish opinion.Do you agree?

It's sad that you have to go to such extreme just to feel save and still you feel like it's not enough. It really isn't to surprising....I mean you hear on the news every day that someone got killed or a house got robbed. I would not go to such lenghts and half the time I don't even lock the door when I leave the house.Call me crazy....but if someone wants what I have so badly....they will find a way to get it. I think your neighbours make the best security system. We watch out for each other and that makes me feel very safe. Besides.....anybody looking down the barrel of a loaded shotgun....will think twice about trying to hurt you :)

i think that the most dangerous part of texas may be like the safest part of south africa. my uncle and 3 of his friends, got killed for his camera in his house. a cheapish 35mm. cant figure out who would want that so bad that they killed for it.

oh boy sounds like you need to move. its sad that we need to have bars on our windows and security systems and then still not feel safe in our home. the town i live in right now has parts like that but where i am at in town it is not to bad not to the point we need bars. if i was you i would be looking to move.

Burglars broke into most of the houses in the neighborhood. Just not into my house and not even into the houses of my direct neighbors. I feel safe and so do my neighbors. I have three English cocker spaniels. My neighbors gladly put up with the barking as we all feel well protected. It is good to have talkative dogs.

We don't have a security system for our house, but living on a Marine Corps Base is pretty safe, you have to go throu a guarded gate to even get on the base, and unless you have a dod sticker on your car or tell them the exact location where you are going you cannot even get on the base

Thats a plus. we dont exactly have any army bases thats safe. i dont even know if we have any. in sa people started to fence in whole neighbourhoods. you have to enter that street via a gate and state exactly where you are going. sign in also. we live near a main road so no hope of that happening.
