its friday night again and people are gearing up for another night of partying and clubbing. personally i'm not the party kind of girl, but i do know people who take friday partying seriously. is this a worldwide phenomenon? is it embarassing to be home alone on friday nights, especially if you're young? hope not.

well, I am 23, and do not get to go out a lot,. as I have two children, but I like to go every once in a while, if I have a responsible babysitter. But going out every weekend is way overrated and becomes boring, I think, but some people really like it. I dont think its embarrassing, it sounds as if it your choice, so you shouldn't be ashamed, if you want to go out, go out but if you want to stay home, stay home =)

thanks! i'm also 23, although i'm still single, so i don't have kids as an excuse for staying home, although i really don't think i need one ;) and i agree, going out to party every friday night can be pretty routine and boring.

I think it's not that big of a deal. Granted I have been sober for 16 years so I don't do the "partying" type of activities anymore. My Friday night tonight is all about my son-in-law doing brake work on my car. Hahahaha. Now that's an exciting Friday night isn't it? LOL I do go out to hear bands at the bars ever so often and drink pop or coffee so I'm not a non-partier. I just don't do it as often. And when I do I won't have any friends calloing me Saturday asking, "Do you know what you did last night Bob?" That's because I know now that I stay sober. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

hi grandpa bob ;) i saw your profile and i really do think that you are really bent on staying sober. Kudos! hope you stay so. i know that it must have been hard making the decision to stay sober but i'm sure that what you are doing is encouraging others overcome or at least curb their drinking ;)

WOW! BR already Thanks bunches. And as far as sobriety for me, I had the courts help in pushing me to this actually. For which I am grateful for though. Anyhow thanks again and have a great day/evening. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Ah, youth. :-} Yes, it seems to be rather common for party people to be out and about on Friday evening. We have Thank God It's Friday [TGIF] celebrations here in the States. There are all kinds of activities available on Friday nights that aren't available other times. We even have a restaurant chain called TGIFridays where lots of younger folks gather. [I don't go there because it is too noisy to have any conversation! Guess that means I'm old. :-)] So, if you are home alone on Friday night, who is going to know?

I think it is about celebrating the end of the work-week. But frankly, I was just too worn out by Friday to do much of anything! Now that I'm retired the days are all pretty much the same until Sunday.

you are right ;) i just dont see what all the fuss is about with fridays and going out to parties, but i guess its something that young people like to do. i'm pretty young, but i still dont get it ;) guess there will always be people like me, people who prefer staying at home to braving the world of friday clubbing ;)

I don't think there is anything wrong with being home alone on a Friday night to enjoy the quietness and do things I want to do at home. I do take Fridays seriously because I work and I am happy to have my weekend ahead. I did party a lot before but now I prefer to stay home and chill. I think I enjoy both a lot depending on my mood. It's fun to go out with friends have a few drinks and catch up in life, and it's also amicable to stay home getting on the internet or read something of my interest. As long as you enjoy it, it's called a good day or evening!

when I was younger, every Friday and sometimes Saturday are party nights. It all depends what you like to do with your friends. My friends and I happen to like partying on weekends so we used to do it on a regular basis. I'm now married so its now just partying on special occassions like friends' birthdays, anniversaries and other excuses for celebrations. lol There are more nights spent at home now than out partying anyway. You shouldn't be embarassed if you happen not to like partying every weekend. Its like eating, why should you be embarassed if you don't like to eat chocolates for instance? As long as you're happy with what you're doing that's the main thing. Have a good weekend.

Hey you got company.I view friday night as a day to unwind but not by partying, but by sleeping tight or watching that favorite movie or even browsing as im doing this night.I have never gone to a nightclub. But it is partly due to the place im living in as the party culture has not exactly taken roots in my country.I believe it is still predominant only in the urban centres and the western hemisphere
