How often do you waste money at "clearance" sales?

One of my biggest shopping sins happens whenever I see a "clearance" sign at a store. Ultimately, no matter how limited my budget, I splurge and end up spending more money on stuff I really don't need and never wear. Once I bought a horrid looking two piece shorts set in yellow/black plaid. Yikes! I spent $24 on the shorts set and wore it twice. Unreal. Never got any complaints about the way it looked, but I think people were just being nice. So, what was your worst purchase. What's the last useless piece of clothing that you bought at a clearance sale?

I think the last useless clothing item I bought were a couple of trendy pieces. I don't know what I was thinking. Every time I put them on I feel ridiculous, so they never make it out of the house. Oh well, at least those leggings make a good extra layer under other pants in the winter.

my worst purchase was a pair of rubber shoes. it was on 50% off tag so even if it's not that pretty, i bought it. gosh. i have worn it three times i guess. and it's like 6 months old. i really regret buying it. and it's the last thing i bought on a clearance sale, too. i haven't been to clearance sales again... it will just tempt me to buy "ugly" on sale items... anne

I used to waste money at "clearance sales" but I don't anymore. I used to shop crazily when I see the sign "clearance" and I thought those were really good deals. I don't remember any really bad purchase myself but a friend of mine bought a dress (yellow and purple pattern) at those sale. At first, we thought she was joking about buying it but she was not (it was with the most discount). But I haven't seen her wearing it one single time in her life, maybe she has gained her senses when she got home and realized that that dress was too funny to wear out. Now I buy things when I need them, it would be best if they are on sale, but I don't really care that much. Because I reckon usually I spend more money when they are on discount buying something I don't need. So I have avoid shopping at discounting season also.

Clearance sales is never a good bargain ,my opinion. Some times These sales are executed after the season is over. If you go for such purchases these are never suitable for that very moments, some are sold due to some faulty materials, some are sold as they turn to be unfashionable. The price tag always plays a pivotal role and favours the owner of the goods. His trick pays ,the customer stuffs his house with unwanted purchases
