Are we myLotters or MyLotians? What should we call ourselves?

Odd, I can't find it either--through search or my "responded to" discussions. Maybe they delete old ones, not sure. I like Lotaholics too, as opposed to the others.
It just sounds more "official" or something....20 years from now we'll all be in a support group for Lotaholics Anonymous...

ROFL We probably will be in mylot rehab down the road.
It's my suspition that they are removing old posts. That would also explain why so many of the folks who have been here for a long time are noticing the numbers next their names going down.

so, don't concern yourself so much about it, then. make your own variation as you wish. for as long as we understand what is it that you mean or referring to, it is just fine.

Actually I don't call us either of those, I just say MyLot members. If I'm answering a discussion where someone has used either word, I stick with their word when I'm answering their post, but I'd rather just be referred to as a MyLot member.

I have usually seen "an" or "ian" added to proper nouns to describe the people or community belonging to that proper noun. In terms of places we have American, Australian, Indian, German, Egyptian, Babylonian etc. In terms of people we have Christian (from Christ), Zoroastrian (from zoroaster), other examples are amphibians, reptilians etc. Indeed there can be exceptions. So based on above, probably Mylotians is a better term to describe Mylotians:-)
Mylotters seems more like looter, plunderer or likes. If you see me using it, there must be something fishy:-)

these words were just coined by the users of mylot. meaning, there is really no rule governing this one. mylot is a community of people who got together as we are united in our interests at getting into discussions. you will have noticed that others will refer to it as the forum, the community, the clientele, the myotters or, the mylotians. it doesn't really matter, the important thing is, that we are all going into this exercise of mylotting and we are enjoying ourselves here.

Sorry I missed this one, filmbuff. I think of myself as a Mylotter, so I guess this is the name I prefer. I also like Transdisc's Mynutian though, as it's different, and quite catchy.:)

For me i think "Mylotter" is better as most of the word referring to occupation or making the meaning from a root word converting to a person in nature are by putting "er" to the root word.
Examples are drive = driver, carry = carrier, track = tracker, keep = keeper ...and so on.
So as to mylot = mylotter .
