Is it okay to leave a child often with in-laws?

We work the whole day and friends say it's not always good to leave our child to my mother-in-law. Others say, it's finer than leaving it with a housemaid. I'm terribly mixed up. Now, which is better?

As long as your mother in law isnt complaining then I wouldnt worry, I leave my daughter with my mother in law if we are both at work and she absolutely loves spending time with her grand daughter, she has never ever complained. As long as you have a good relationship with your MIL and she can openly talk to you and tell you if she is having a problem with having your child all the time then I wouldnt worry, she raised your husband and she must have done a good job of that!

It all depends on how you truly feel about your mother-in-law. I don't have the best relationship with my mother in law and my husband doesn't even want to be around her. We have told her countless time not to ask our children to do things for her. She is also getting senile. I would not leave my children with her for a minute. Like I said, it is depending on your relationship with your mother-in-law. If you two get along good, then no worries. I would say it is better to leave your children with family than with complete strangers. There are some real sickos out there and leaving them with family seems better.
