I read something a few weeks ago that I somehow found kind of amusing. A man lost his drivers-licens for drinking and walking =) Apperently he had been arrested for beeing drunk, 3 times in one month and this they thought was reason enough to take his driverslicens away, even though he had not even been near driving. What is your thoough about this? I am sure that this case is not over - but do you think it is fair?

It is cops who are fooling around with that poor drunkard. Legally they do not have rights to punish the drunken walker.

If any person tries to break laws the he become life threatening for others , so for the law force agencies , it is necessary to take preventive measures and there is no harm in doing so.After all people should at least try to respect the laws made by their rulers.

Driving after drinking is very bad and might prove to be fatal to the one who is driving and also for others who come in the way of the vehicle...

Unless he was Messing with people or a hazard to the road they have no right to arrest him. Some cops are just retarts anymore they should have just left him alone I'am sure he was not bothering anyone they just felt like picking on him. My Father in law is a cop and I know he would never lock anyone up for drunk walking Driving yes but not Walking. Have a Great Day/Night.

I think that taking that man's license away is wrong. I think that he should some common sense when he decided to walk home instead of driving and risking the chance of killing some one while driving intoxicated. I totally think it is unfair.

I don't think it's fair by no means. If they are going to lose their license anyway, why bother walking? To me this encourages drunk driving, which I am passionately against. I hope this isn't over and someone shows these idiots how stupid that is.

LOL, marie. You didn't leave us a better choice than the two you mentioned. Certainly drink and drive is very dangerous. I don't think I need to elaborate on that. Any one with a common sense will know the consequence we will face. Drink and walk will be a better choice. But I will a sane friend to accompany me for the walk. Who knows, I might bump myself on the road or end up walking to the police station instead of my house, LOL!

I'm not sure about being fair or not but it is more for his safety and others. As you said, he has been arrested 3 times in one months for being drunk. Probably the police known his habit quite well, and it's just a matter of time before he drive and drunk. Better safe than sorry... But even walk and drunk can be dangerous sometimes. What if somebody rip him off or beat him up while he was walk and drunk as he can't remember anything, he's certainly an easy target for a criminal that hanging around on the street. Well, it's just my opnion...
