alert: to all who just want to argue and criticize...

If the only thing you want to do is argue or criticize something I say without having the respect to read what I'm saying and attempt to answer or join in the discussion just to be contentious, don't waste my time.
If you don't agree with me, that's fine. I'm not expecting everyone to agree with me but at least do me the courtesy of reading what I posted with the possibility of considering a different perspective.
I've noticed that there are a few people on here who simply want to argue for the sake of arguing. I have better things to do with my time than respond to you. I have figured out who wants to argue just to be difficult and who is genuinely responding to something I wrote and from now on, I don't plan to respond to you.
I'm not here to convince anyone to agree with me. I'm a writer and I post things that are of interest to me and I try to give a varying perspective and maybe give someone something to think about. If you don't agree with me, that's no problem. But don't expect me to respond to you if all you are trying to do is make me angry or start an argument.
I have a business to run and a job on top of that and I don't have time to waste on people who are intentionally being obtuse or who are just so immature that they have to argue about everything or get the last word in. That is a waste of life and the brain God gave you and I don't intend to participate. So, don't be surprised when I don't respond.

I know how you feel whimsystoryteller....I had someone respond to one of my discussions and number one it just sounded like he didn't really read what I was saying...and two, he he was very insulting to me to boot...I had to actually walk away from the computer to get away for a few minutes to cool down..if I hadn't I swear I would have been tempted to throw my computer out the window--that's how ticked off and fired up I was---I did reply to the person, in a nice civilized polite manner yet at the same time I hope I did get across how far off base he was in his response and how rude of him it was to make preconceived notions of me...
Like you I don't expect everyone to agree with my discussions --the thing is this particular discussion of mine had nothing to do with agreeing or not agreeing with me--I'm still fuming here a bit about what he said to me and implied...I, like you have better things to do with my time then waste it on needless bantering

Thanks for making me laugh a bit. I've never had the desire to throw my computer out the window but I have wanted to wring a few necks on here.
I just find it incredibly disrespectful of someone to not even read what I've said and then make an argument. Of course, I have been guilty of that on occasion when someone has made their point in the first few lines but continues to write a lengthy post that repeats what they've already said. I guess some people think that is going to convince us that their perspective is right. The only thing it convinces me of is that they aren't real sure that they believe it either.
I try to respect people enough to at least read what they wrote and try to understand their perspective before giving my own. Now, I do have some pretty strong beliefs and values and most people aren't going to change that perspective in any way, shape or form. But I don't argue simply to argue. That's foolish.

Well lets face it...some people love to argue no matter what...to hear their own voices I guess...maybe it just makes them feel important somehow---this might make you laugh too...there's a saying..That people who talk too much have diarreha of the mouth.." So maybe these people have diarreha of the computer...LOL

I wonder sometimes myself when I see people that go around being negative to people on these discussions, and wonder if they ever have a kind word to say? I mean, come on we all have BAD days, but why bring it here? And since you might only earn 1 cent per post at most it seems anymore, it cannot be for the money, and if it is for the Fame, then they need a better life.
I commend you for bringing this up, and wishing you the best here in myLot.

I wouldn't bother to respond to ppl that just want to fight either. I respond to discussions b/c they peak my interest and/or I want to voice my opinion but I don't expect to have to battle with anyone to have that opinion. Most of the time, I will post my reply and that is the end of it...unless someone actually wants to talk to me :)
