Up In Flames!

okkkkkkkk Grandpa Bob. You really must be an excellent mind-reader cause we just came in from having a bonfire. In fact, it's still going strong but we are all tired and know it's not going to spread so left it going. Was just telling hubby I should of brought my camera out and took pics of it. Was very bright and HOT. Dumped 2 loads of bark over a big stump we haven't been able to burn out so I'm hoping this time it does so I can grow grass there instead of weeds.

Ah.. Boredom will one day destroy us. :) I'll have to check the picture after, I wished mylot would attach the pictures to the discussion when replying via e-mail. But oh well. Have a good night/day bob! ~Joey

You and your fires again! Just like my husband. Actually we really like our outside fires. Fortunately we have plenty of spare wood from chopping down one of the trees. We are still discussing how to resolve the hole in the shadecloth roof, from one of hubbys fires. He thinks he wants us to buy one of those outdoor fire places, with a flu. I'm not sure it would be quite the same, but when our pergola roof is redone, we need to think of something.. Did you know fires are traditional for Australian Aboriginals? Where I come from, they would build a fire in the main street, or outside a nearby school. I rated your ohoto & wrote a comment.

Hi Again Grandpa Bob! I've been 'going around in circles' on here tonight, mostly reading, and responding and commenting 'some.' I love your bonfire photos, and bonfires in general. I really like the smell, and it reminds me of camp.:) I don't live in an area where we can have them, but wish I were closer, so I could join you, and your family, for yours.

Sorry to hear of your boredom Grandpa! I myself had to work today and have only been home about an hour and a half. It is currently 11:10 pm and I had to eat dinner when I got home about 9:45 so this is my second posting and now I am tired and should really go to bed. This is the first I have got on here all day. No wonder I can't start any discussions!! LOL Plus I am very behind on my friends discussions! :( I guess I am too tired and busy to be bored these days! LOL I hope your boredom passes :+)

This must be the year for bonfires. We have hardly ever had one and this year we've had several. We have been making smores, and they are so good. Makes me feel like a kid again.

well, grandpa bob, i guess we all go through boredome. but the title you thought about really made me worried. i thought someone put you to flames in here again. hehe. anyway, at times when i am bored and i feel that my brain's not up for myLot discussions, i just watch movies. it's my best way in diverting my attention to this very busy world. the last time i spent a night infront of a bonfire with friends was like in 2002. that was too long ago. hehe. and i can say, even if we just sit there infront of the burning woods, i do have fun doing it. ... anne

You find nice way to get over your boredom grandpa... I saw at I liked all your fire photos but the best of all was the one you add at joey_matthews with your comment.The flames was perfect. Lets see with what photos you gonna come back.

I'm so jealous. You get to do way better things than I do when you're bored! LOL If I were to set a bonfire in my back yard, the fire department would be here in less than five minutes (it doesn't help that I live right up the street from them). I love the picture of your bonfire. My first thought was "bring on the marshmallows!" LOL

Good for you! It's nice to have some diversions especially when are home alone. Just don't forget to put out the fire before you leave the house though... have a great night!

there's something about a fire that awakes the child in us. Something mysterious yet majestic about a fire. I love watching sparks fly. have fun with your bon fire!

I like a good fire. I have been tempted to buy a firepit to put on my deck. We have no shortage of wood around my house!
