I've heard a lot of people use the line: "I was young and foolish...I didn't know what I was doing" to justify the wrong things that they've done. Do you think its right? Does it really justify mistakes in the past? CAre to share your opinion?

Better late than never when it comes to self realization. There is still a lot of time left and one can work with great maturity.

One should constantly keep working on self realization and understanding one's own mistakes.

To accept weaknesses is a great effort and also with the passage of time, a person becomes wiser and wiser. The intelligent persons learn from their mistakes and to err is a human.

i don't think people use it to justify the mistake but rather as an explanation. yes you do some stupid things when young but why do those actions need to be justified? if the reason it was done was because you were young and foolish then what else should you say? though i'm sure that someone had directed them to steer away from such activity and they just didn't listen ...because they were young and foolish.

I think there is no justification for the mistakes we've done in life. We always have a choice in all circumstances. If we did make a mistake, then this becomes a learning experience for us. We don't really have to give an excuse for everything we do but we just want to give excuses for us not to feel very guilty. The wise man's move, however, is to get up from the fall and make better decisions in the future. Being "young and foolish" is a thing of the past... we all passed this stage, its now time to move on.

Being born imperfect humans make mistakes but to cover it up they find ways and means to justify it.Since young ppl like to try out new stuff they usually end up being stupid or foolish, but thts part of growing up to be man or woman. learning from mistakes is good and not dwelling on it.
