Many movies, especial Disney, end up saying happily ever after. Story book, fairy tales all have it. I really wanted to know. Is there such a thing as "happily ever after"? Or is this just in story?

I don't think there is such thing as "happily ever after" in real life. I think in a relationship, both people have to work really hard to stay together, it's not just love, there is commitment, compromises and how to keep that love flame going. I would say it's a 50-50 chance it would work and it would depend solely on those two people involved. If one party wants to get out of the relationship, then no matter how hard the other tries, it won't succeed. I think the instability of a relationship is because of the "not being able to control the whole thing on your own". I think it does take hard work and luck to make it last forever.

I agree with you. It's take a lot of works to make it last longer. When I see an old couple walking around for their afternoon exercise, I can't help but wish maybe someday I'd have a relationship that would last that long. How do they do that? OMG, they hold each other hands. I wonder, where is my prince charming? But you see more divorces in real life than you can count and it just beg the question "is there such thing as happily ever after?" The sad sad answer is probably not. But a girl can dream, can't she? ^_^

thank you. I hope you live happily ever after with the person of your dream too. Maybe one day in 50 years from now, you, me and our spouses could meet in a restaurant somewhere and tell about our fairy tale adventures. ^_^ j/k.

Of course honey you can dream and you definitely have the right to dream. But remember when the Prince Charming comes along, you have to work hard with him to make the "happily ever after" happen in your life and I wish you the best luck on that. I personally would see an old couple walking hand in hand on Valentine's Day around where I live, and I really think that's so sweet and I admire them so much because after all these years, they still remember to walk holding hands and celebrate what they have in life.

Yea! I do believe that there are stories that really have "live happily ever after" kind of endings. Life holds possibilities in varying degrees of intensity, right up to the extreme. So it is indeed possible for people to be that fortunate and happy.:)

I am glad you still believe in a "happily ever after" ending. ^_^ Not many people had that believe anymore, including me. Keep on believing. Live life with no regrets. ^_^

you make your own reality and you can make your everlasting life into a "happy ever after" life.if you know how to manage yourself and you know what makes your life happy then we can all live happily ever after.

That's true. If you are determine to have a happily ever after ending you have to try hard to make it happen. Thanks for the reply.

First I must say, the animal shelter I volunteer at is called "Happily Ever After Animal Sanctuary"(no kill).LOL. There is never a happily ever after constantly.I do know a few old people who have been together for 50+ yrs. and if they are happy,it is happily ever after. Just that life is not all fun and games in between.

I dont think so. Life always has ups and downs and I personally believe nobody in the world can live happily ever after. Even in the fairy tales, the hero and heroine would have definitley face the ups and downs in their family after the fairy tales has ended. What do you say?

I think that happily ever after only happen in fairy tales. But then again they cut it off at the part when they get marry. You won't know what happen next. The couple could get in an argument and get a divorce. They don't show that because they know the reader/audience crave for a happy ending.

yes there is. Like early this year i was involved in a argument with my father cause i didn't go to collect a certificate of completion of a program i did back then and he was like he wasn't going to lift any finger to help me or give me my monthly allowance. As GOD would have it, i got the certificate without having to do the program all over and since then we have been at peace with each other and i think i might call that happily ever after

I don't think so. Life is not based on fairytales alone. We always encounter trials and learn to live with it. ;)

People are generally emotional and there sympathies go to the weaker character, who is suppressed and hurt. Hence their imagination about happy ending, they believe, resulting in the victory for the weaker character, but in real life ,there is sad ending , all have to perish.
