Women's Tennis Fashion: A brewing disaster?

Apparently the trend in women's tennis has been somewhat of a disaster. An example is in the Roland Garros 2007 tournament, Maria Sharapova's "laced dress" is one of the worst dressed at the moment. The low-cut necklined dress seems to be more appropriate in a dinner and dance or cocktail party. She seems to be uncomfortable playing the matches due to the texture of the dress. Another example is Serena William's "apron-looking" dress. Maybe it's due to her very masculine body shape which does not complement the dress. Could this be due to lack of creativity in designing more appropriate yet stylish and comfortable apparels?

Hello Iqah! I believe this is due to the fact that these players have to wear what their sponsors asked them to. All for the sake of making a fashion statement. I do believe sports apparel should be designed for comfort rather than just fashion. Being stylish is one thing, but comfort is definitely a must.
