Even though there are many reasons for baldness, I believe the baldness may be because of the hereditary reasons too. Some of my friends have developed baldness in their very young age, just because their fathers had the baldness. People say different reasons for baldness such as bodily hormone changes, improper hair maintenance, food habits etc too !

Baldness may occur due to three factors: 1) It is hereditary. If your father is bald then you have fair chances of being bald. 2) It depends on your hormones. In this you have nothing in your hand as was in the first case. May be a nutritionist or an expert may help. 3) And lastly, it depends on hoe you treat your hair. Men generally have more oily scalps than women, and this results in greater chances of hair fall. Hair should be treated carefully, extra chemicals are to be avoided...That's all.

if you have familial tendency for baldness, well you have higher chances of going bald. but of course, we have to put in mind other factors that could contribute to baldness. these could include chemotherapy, and lifestyle.

I think so. I have read somewhere that baldness can be blamed into their parents (how blame??! LoL!) something like that. It said that it caused by a mixture of genetics and hormones that we have little control of. One particularly is enzyme's overzealous conversion of testosterone into DHT (dihydrostestosterone, an important part of male fetus development that causes baldness. For women suffering from baldness it says that blame it on the powerful andogens created by the ovaries and adrenal glands combined with loss of estrogen for their hair loss. This can often be seen on women who are in menopausal period. That is when their testosterone is at its highest level. Well...well...check on your parents then if one of them is balding!! :)

It definitely seems that way. It also seems that the mom's family has more impact than the father's family.

male pattern baldness is hereditary. so if your dad is losing his hair, or has no more hair left on his head, better look up those sites about it, so you'll learn more. the good thing is that now we have the technology to treat baldness, although i know that hair plugs are not for everyone ;)_
