If you could chagne one thing in history what would it be? I've thought about this often throughout my life and have always wondered what one thing, if I could, would I change. It dawned on me a few weeks ago when I was watching the "idol gives back show" yes I had an epiphany during idol, of all things! It would be no poverty, this is, I would not to make everyone in the world rich, but at least a means that people would have the basic necessities of life, food, and shelter. What would you change?

If I had it in my power to change an event in history it would most certainly have been the birth of Hitler. I would have saved millions of lives, trillions of money and off course no war. If only.... hind sight is... sigh!

Hitler was an atrocity to humankind, the holocaust of world war 2 killed millions. Hind sight is a wonderful thing annie, and would be wonderful if we had it! While I was thinking of what in history would I change this was right up there.

I think that if Hitler wasn't born, people would not have been awakened. They wouldn't realize that one man is capable of a genocide, and laws would not have been passed to prevent future occurences. At the same time, the Jews probably wouldn't realize that they can be strong as a nation and as a people..

I'm from the Philippines and we suffered a lot during WWII with a lot of killings here and there because of the Japanese. I used to believe that the Japanese were the cause of the killings until several of the old people who fought during the war told me that those in the Japanese army weren't Japanese. They were Koreans and they were the ones who killed Filipinos and raped our women. Some Japanese officials didn't even know that their army were behaving this way.

A utopian society is an ideal that most of us would love ranikrishnan. I would love to see that happen one. You never know it may just happen.

I guess I'd go all the way back to Adam and Eve and have her "just say no" to the serpent!

I don't think I'd change anything. The world is what it is now because of the choices that people made in the past. If we were to change every little thing that lead to how the present is, then we'd be missing out on important lessons that we could use to guide the future.

That is true tala, but I would have preferrred to be with out the atrocites and genocide, millions of needless deaths through starvation, greed, and torture.

Not to change human nature, but if we could change one event in history that led to some type of destruction in our world. All those that I mentioned were events in our world history, and there are many more that date further back and present.

Then I'm supposing that it's not history that you want to change but human nature itself. All these atrocities didn't happen because of history, they happened because man made them happen and man let them happen. It's not about changing history, it's about changing man himself.
