It sounds a little crazy but indeed, I just found out that my PC has got 2322 errors in it - and I never knew anything about it all along!!! LOL It's a good thing I have detected it somehow (and got it fixed) with a certain detection program - otherwise, my PC must have been set to get ruined. How about you?? Do you know the errors that are in your PC?? Do you regularly check it's general status??

Wow I thought mine was the worst. LOL That must have been really bothersome seeing those 3000 errors appearing on your scan.. B-)

I try to keep my pc safe and secure and run scans frequently in the background whilst doing other things. I have never had a virus on my pc because as i said i try my very best to keep everything safe but there are some excellent freeware programs on the internet for cleaning up and removing errors from your pc.

Are you talking about viruses/parasites (collectively called badware), or registry errors? For my registry, I use ToniArts EasyCleaner. It will find several hundred on a machine that's never been cleaned before, but I don't recall ever having run into a whole thousand with it (I may have, but I don't remember it). Not that there aren't ever that many, but EasyCleaner isn't supposed to remove anything unless it knows for a fact that it is a definite, unambiguous error. There was a time when I used the ever-popular PC Tools Registry Mechanic, that is, until it caused a bluescreen. I've been taught that it's less dangerous to leave behind a few orphaned entries than it is to remove a few vital ones, so I stick with the cleaner that's the most conservative. As far as malware are concerned, I strive to make sure my system stays clean. I am currently using Sunbelt Personal Firewall Free, which is one of few that uses NIPS (Network-based Intrusion Prevention Systems) to block drive-by threats before they have the chance to compile into memory and attempt to install themselves. I recently switched from CyberDefender to AOL's ActiveVirusShield, which scans files as they are written to the hard drive for malware (viruses, backdoors, Trojans, bots...) and grayware (spyware, adware, keyloggers, ransomware...). I also use Arovax Shield to block changes to browser and system settings, and Folder Guard to lock the system32 folder to read-only. Folder Guard is not free, unfortunately, but the only alternative I am currently aware of is to use Windows' advanced file security, which can only be toggled from Safe Mode on XP. As is, my system is quite stable, and extremely well guarded. I don't even get ordinary spyware; the only things that are allowed on my system at all are session cookies, which are erased as soon as I close my browser. :) Here's how I score in PC Security Test 2006: http://www.mylot.com/w/image/1488078.aspx
