Okinawa! Ever been there?

My husband is military. We just got orders to Okinawa, Japan for this coming January. I'm excited as can be, but also nervous and scared of the culture shock. Has anyone ever been there? Did you enjoy it? Do you have any tips for me? Help!

Hi! There wouldn't be much of a problem in terms of culture shock as Okinawans are really friendly and polite by nature...you'd definitely be humbled by their politeness. Just be more observant on how they act. In addition, you will see a lot of Americans there. Just relax and enjoy your stay. I'm sure it will all be pleasant. Enjoy the scenery, the people, the food and culture, and who knows? you might wanna keep coming back.
