NICKELBACK Band Members: Chad Kroeger (guitar, vocals), Mike Kroeger (guitar), Ryan Vikedal (bass) Band Name Origin: Mike Kroeger used to work at a coffee shop and at the time a cup of joe was selling for $2.95 to $4.95. He was constantly saying the phrase, "Here's your nickel back." Yup.I.heard.it.from.one.of.the.group.years.ago.at.a.party... Apparently.one.of.them.went.to.the.store.and.got.five.cents.change. from.something.they.purchased.for.the.group.(a.2/4.of.Canadian,.I.think,) .and.when.asked.for.the.change.said.'we.got.a.nickel.vack'. and.they.decided.that.was.as.good.a.name.as.any

hi dan14ehs. I have to agree with your second post. The band name derived from the nickel in change Mike Kroeger's brother frequently had to give back to customers in his job at Starbucks in which he would say "heres your nickel back". welcome to mylot. Have a nice day=)
