What little dittys did you learn, in your youth, to help you remember facts? do they still stick with you today? such as I before E except after C or in sounding like A as in neighbor and weigh... the alphabet song for Math, "Slope is easy and fun, just remember rise over run." the calendar (I could never remember this one.... 30 days hath something er other.) he order of planets my very earthly mother just served us nine pickles and for chemistry Johnny was a chemist, Johnny is no more - what Johnny thought was h2o was h2so4 or how about the johnny horton songs for historical time lines? in 1814 we took a little trip, along with colonal jackson down the might mississip....

HaHa!! This is a GREAT discussion! Like a poster above me, I always remember the colors of the rainbow by ROYGBIV. And like you said, I cannot remember which months have how many days without reciting: 30 days has september; april, june and november. All the rest have 31, except february and it has 28.

I don't know most of those but the 30 days hath September, April June and November, all the rest have 31 except for February and I can't remember how the rest goes ...something about 28 days unless it's a leap year then it's 29. The planets one was Mother Venus eat more jam so you know Pluto. They are doing it with first aid courses now like RICE for a strain injury, rest, ice, compress and elevate. There were others but I've forgotten them. I've made up my own but forgotten those too. Who am I again? LOL.

We learned the planets by a different sentence-- Mark Vanderploug Eats Macaroni Just So Uncle Ned Praises. Our class made this up when we were in 4th grade. That's about 25 years ago. Funny that I can still remember that! Also directions (in clockwise order)... Never Eat Shredded Wheat. And the colors of the Rainbow... ROYGBIV. I don't think we had any sentence for this, I just remember ROYGBIV! And finally... Ollie Has A Heap Of Apples. O=obtuse, H=hypotenuse and A=adjacent. I can't remember exactly the math formula that goes with it, but I am surprised that I remember what they stand for! LOL! If anyone knows, please refresh my tired old brain, please!!
