Do you remember the america rocks and/or school house rock commercials from the 70's?
They were my favorite part of Saturday Morning cartoons.
Which ones still stick with you after all these years?

Lolly lolly lolly get your adverbs here....
conjunction junction whats your function.....
so if youre happy or sad or excited or mad - an interjection makes the moment right!......
unpack your adjectives.....
Oh, I'm just a bill, sitting here on capital hill......
Elbow Room elbow room (louisiana purchase)
We the people, in order to form a more perfect union...(preamble)
"The British are coming! The British are coming!"
Now, the ride of Paul Revere
Set the nation on its ear,
And the shot at Lexington heard 'round the world,
When the British fired in the early dawn
The War of Independence had begun,
The die was cast, the rebel flag unfurled. ....... (independance)
then there were all the math songs like the figure 8 song.
wow, I liked saturday morning tv so much - not for the cartoons but for the songs of grammar rock, america rock etc.

I got the dvd for my kids. As part of "mommy" home work they watch the math stuff! I loved those so much when I was little!

We actually bought the DVD of ALL the songs on it a few years ago. 4 hours of SHR songs. 4 hours of singing Conjunction Junction, I'm just a bill, A Noun is a person, place or thing. :)
The best part is, They ARE learning tools! MY oldest was just starting his multiplication tables at the end of his 2nd grade year. We're going to work on this summer, singing the SHR math songs. Pretty easy way to learn them, I'd say.
I don't know if I could pick just ONE favorite. I would say the "Conjunction Junction" is my favorite grammer, "My Hero Zero" is my favorite math, It's a tie between the inventions one (mother of necessity), and the preamble (we the people...) for the history, and "$7 once a week" for the finances.
Thank you for the walk down memory lane. :) I may just have to break out the DVD tomorrow and watch (maybe just listen!) :)

I bought my kids a DVD of School House Rock !! I also tell them how we had to wait ALL week for SAturday morning to watch all the best cartoons and stuff. Ours were so much better than the junk they have on TV today. I am singing conjunction junction as we speak. I can see the little bill on the hill too. Wow, thanks for reminding me !!

I totally love school house rock. I uh...wasn't alive in the 70's but in the 80's we totally watched it in Elementary school.
They actually have the school house rock collection on DVD. Everytime I see it I'm so tempted to buy it...but I haven't yet...one day...one day!
