Will you defend your faith or keep safe?

What if one day your faith is declared illegal and practicing it will mean death to you and your family. Will you fight a holy war or will you stay underground and keep safe. Another alternative is converting to the accepted faith. Which do you prefer?I would rather die a martyr rather than die a deserter to the eyes of my GOD.:)
