Let me just start by saying i am not an animal hater, neither do I have anything against people who spoil there animals. One thing that really annoys me though is when I go to someones house for a meal and there animals are crawling on the sides where tehy are preparing food, while their own child will come in and have been playing in the garden and the parent and owner of the pet will tell the child to go wash their hands. i understand the point of hygene but hey they have just let an animal crawl all over the surfaces where they are about to cook your dinner after it has been out god knows where all night and licks it's own private parts, double standards? Also then the meal gets served up and in comes the household pet to come and stare at you while you eat and once again the mum tells the child off for watching her while she eats yet leaves the family dog staring at me and whining, then to add insult to injury when I have pushed my food around the plate a bit as I do not feel comfortable eating dur to the cat fur on the sides adn underneath the plate, not to mention the dog barking throughout for scraps, they then get the plate that tey expected me to eat from, chuck it on the floor right by my feet and then I end up with my footwear covered in teh remains of the food. Yak. I have had animals in teh past and they have never stared at guests or myself while we ate, neither have I let them walk along the kitchen sides while I prepare food. i am all for loving your animal and taking them to pet parlours which people moan about even spoiling them with the most expensive meals and fussing them is a great way to spoil them, but the food thing is all down to personall hygene or lack of it, why on earth would you tell your child to was their ands before eating if you have just let your cat that has been waltzing the neighbourhood all night brush it's fur up against the plate rack and walk along the board you are just about to prepare veg on. That's just plain disgusting. Is it just me who thinks this?
