Does anyone do this?. I'm thinking of doing it myself. Not that I have a lot of estate/apartments/money or such a large assets that I need to write a Will. But I think it is more to avoid dispute or fighting among my siblings. I had no children of my own so when I die, my siblings will get all my money and assets. And I don't want them to have any squabble out there over who gets what when I truly want to rest in peace down there. Do you think its a good idea as it is not a pratice for a Muslim to write a will? Help me with you views so that I can decide further. Thank you for you help.

A will is essential, a friend of mine passed away without a will and five years down the track it is still not settled, here in Australia if you die without a will the courts decide where your belongs and such go, and unfortunately the solicitors always seem to be the ones to comeout on top financially...do you family a favour and make sure you write a legal will with no loop holes....

Thank you for your advice. Here in Singapore, if someone die without a will and have an asset that worth more than SD$10,000, a govt department will take care of it. It can stretch for a few months to years to settle the claims. HHmmm, perhaps I should do that.

I think that is a fantastic idea. Just make sure you follow the guidelines per our Islamic law (perhaps check with MUIS?) Like you say, it will avoid any unnecessary dispute (believe me, I've seen it happened). Also there might be a particular person who you would like to set aside for that the your family members might know of and a will definitely help :)
