Today was Kyle Petty's first race of the year in the booth. I think he did good even if I did miss him in the car. Do you think he is getting ready to retire? and heading into the booth for good? what do you think about Chad McCumbee filling in for kyle? I watched him yesterday for the first time in the Arca Remax series in a petty car and he won! that was good to see and paul Andrews (bobby's crew chief) son was also there and came in third in a petty car! so Pretty's had a good day there. Chad came in 25th at Pocono today but if the race had of gone full do you think he might have gotten closer? he started 34th. So where is kyle's Future?

The best commentators in all sports are those who have participated in the sport themselves. John McEnroe makes an excellent tennis commentator because he was such a good player himself, even a bit controversial at times. He can now poke fun at himself because of some of the controversy from his past, which adds to his likability as a commentator. The fact that the Petty family name is so well known in the racing circle certainly gives Kyle credibility right from the start. Unfortunately I had a graduation party to go to yesterday, so I missed most of the race. I could have seen the last half if it hadn't been rain delayed. I didn't see enough to make a judgment call on how Kyle will be as a commentator yet. The fact that Chad McCumbee was able to hang in there and make it up to 25th from 34th is a good sign. So many who run in their first Cup race don't last that long or gain ground. He might do alright.
