I really need to go. Have you been to Dentist lately? when I think of them putting that long needle in my mouth, I could go some were and hide. I always tell them to numb my gums before they put the needle in my mouth. I have to get some work done. How about those dental schools, would you go there to save moey if you had no insurance I would. you do safe some money. have a good week everyone! thnks Marcie.

My dentist is great. He offers nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to all his patients to help calm them down. I have not used any yet because I have only had my teeth cleaned and did not have a cavities since I have been seeing this dentist.

There's some dentists who specialize in people who are afraid. A dental referral service should be able to give you names and numbers in your area. Yes, dental schools at universities do save you money.

I'm not too fond of the denist either. I even have dental insurance. And I am in need of some dental work that I keep putting off in having done. Hopefully, I will be able to break down and go before too long. Stay busy working for one thing, and the other the cost of it even with dental insurance.

I am terrified of the dentist. I went to one for a toothache, and by time he was done I had 4 root canels, 6 extractions and a few teeth that were half gone. I could not eat or do anything for a long time. To top things off the tooth I went in for was still there and nothing had been done to it.

Oh huney I know exactly what you mean! That needle is the worse thing in the world!!! I hate it. We have a thing here called Ram (remote area medical)USA. They set up free dental care and eye exams. They have a website here: http://ramusa.org They do big events and give free dental and vision care. I have been but it is very stressful. I wish they would just put a mask over my face like for surgery and knock me out! I don't even mind the work it is just that big needle stuck in my gums!

I go to the Dentist about 3 times a year for deep cleanings because of peridontal disease. I actually not nervous about going, I really like my dentist and his office staff. I never have to wait a long time before they take care of me and I'm usually out of there within an hour. I have dental insurance, which isn't really good but something is better than nothing. What type of dental work do you have to get done?

I need general anesthesia to walk into the office. I have a neurological problem..where I go out cold from the pain, local anesthesia does not block it. I also get nauseous just hearing a drill. I walk in with my iPod on as loud as I can stand it. I have not gone in forever...I have no dental insurance and the last thing I had done...I charged..ober 3grand. I am still paying it off.

I definitely recommend going to a dental school if you don't have the money to go to a regular dentist without insurance. The students working on patients are still working under the supervision of an actual dentist, so you are still in very good hands!

Twice a year I make sure I go to this dental clinics for check ups and cleaning too. We do have a not so good insurance but am still enjoying it. Going to a student dentist is fine with me, i know some of them are really good specially in universities. Its one way of saving money for practical reasons when we don't have any insurance.

I am glad to know that I am not the only one who hates that needle. I almost feel like I am going to pass out when they stick it in. I am one of the worlds worst about going to the dentist, and that is bad. I make my son go to keep his teeth well, and he always asks me when I am going to go. I did not know that they had free dental and vision programs. I am glad that someone posted this, we don't have insurance anymore, and we live quite a ways away from a dental school. I will have to check it out, thank you!

I also hate to go to see the dentist. Actually I finished the final repairment for my tooth last week. I have been there three times for this tooth and it cost me a lot. I think even if installing a gold tooth won't cost so much:) So nowadays I really pay attention to my teeth and I brush my teeth well. And after brushing my teeth, I also use the mouth water to make sure it's totally clean.
