Thank you so much to all of mylot who lifted our family up in your prayers this weekend. Trinity Baptist Church in Little Rock extended the call for Mike to fill the roll as their pastor, and he has accepted that call. So now, I'm asking for everyone's prayers to continue as we embark on this new journey. Today is my first official day as a pastor's wife. I don't feel any different lol...but I know that my role has changed just a bit, and the responsibilities have certainly changed. All of you pastor's wives that posted to my earlier discussions, I may be calling on your expertise for advice in the coming years!

Thank God for the privilege He has given to you and your husband to serve in this capacity. I know and trust that God will equip you both in this ministry, to bring glory to His kingdom. May His blessings be upon you as you faithfully serve Him.

thank you Lexus. We pray each day that God will equip us with what we need to serve him in everything that comes our way. Someone once told me that God doesn't call the equipped, he equips the called. If we always remember that, we can't ever stray too far.

Yes that's true..God equips the called. He is the one at work, and you are but His instruments. As long as you have a willing and committed heart, He will work through you to bring glory to His kingdom.

That is wonderful. I am happy that he got the role that is wonderful. If I lived closer I would go see him preach.

I think they are going to start taping him. I wish I knew how to put that on the internet, because I would certainly do it. I love to hear him speak, and always have.

Oh dear what a blessing, I am so pleased to hear this news and will certainly be adding both you and 'The Pastor' to my prayer list. My best friends in the world are a retired Pastor and his wife and to me they are the nearest to perfect example I can imagine - I am blessed to have them as friends and mentors. I have been told there is a big adjustment to being 'the pastor's wife'.

Very good advice and wonderful that you have other Pastor's wives to share with. A few months back I helped care for an elderly couple, retired missionaries, while I was there my Pastor friend and his wife went to visit one nigh - it was a wonderful blessing to both couples. The next day the 'missionary wife' told me how lonely it could be to be a pastor's wife because you have to be very careful not to become to close or open up too much to people for various reasons.

I have two very close friends that are members of this church. Including the one who will one day be my daughter's mother in law. I talked to all the women of the church before Mike took it and told them that I really wanted to achieve that kind of closeness with all of them. It's a really small congregation so it is possible.

I have two former pastor's wives that I can call on for advice and prayer. Now I feel more of a kinship with them than ever. They gave me two pieces of advice. Be myself and guard my mouth.

I'm so thankful for you and your family! I pray God's richest blessings on all of you as you begin your new ministry. I'm not a preacher's wife myself but just hearing different people who are I know it has to be a big job and I know Satan will try his hardest to discourage all of you. Keep the faith and God will bless you. SheliaLee

Yes, especially when we have weeks like this one! We've had two deaths that have effected our church, plus two surgeries in one family! We just have to keep putting God first and giving him the glory for the victories.

We have some friends that moved here from Iowa. But quite honestly, I couldn't tell you where. I have only been to your part of the country once, and then only driving through. Maybe we can get back someday. I remember it being quite beautiful.

that's awesome. Where is your church? Are you southern baptist? Independent or Missionary?

We are located in the Eastern side of Iowa in a small town of Monticello. I am independent Baptist, and our church is affiliated with the GARBC (General Association of Regular Baptist Churches). I have served in churches in Indiana, Nebraska and Iowa over the last 15 years.

Praise the Lord! It is wonderful to hear this news. Both of you have very, very important role to function in. Your roles extend more than just being shepards to God's flock in the church. You both are the ones who will steer the lives of these ones into getting connected to God. It is more than just listening to their challenges or problems but more than that. I pray for the blessings of the Almighty to be upon your family and you being God's chosen ones.

thank you for the prayers and the confidence. Yes, it is a wonderful thing to have the opportunity to share Christ with someone. Our first week on the field was Vacation Bible School! I couldn't believe how much fun it was!

I've been amazed at those that were praying for us that have come back and said...we knew he was the right man for the church. I pray that we will be able to be the kind of minister that will live up to that confidence.

As long as we will continue to keep HIM first, I know that He will continue to bless our family. He's never let us down yet, and I don't have any reason to believe he will start now. Thanks for all your prayers.

it's funny that you say that, because I really felt like I was at home the first time that I ever walked into the church. I didn't say anything-even to my husband until many weeks after that when he just point blank asked me how I felt about it.

Thank you very much for your continued prayers. We've been on the field for 7 months now, and we still just absolutely love our little church. It's a great congregation that love God and love each other. They have such a heart for the people of their community and it shows in the way they are growing in the spirit.

How did I miss this discussion? That is really exciting news. I bet you are thrilled or was 7 months ago when you wrote this. For some reason, I thought he was a Pator all along.
