stupidity???

today sees the release of the dark bow and 2 new dragon weapons in runescape. i have just been browsing the runescape forum and i have seen people buying these new items... the prices some people are willing to pay is ridiculous, but is it stupidity or not? many new topics are popping up saying things like buying dark bow 8mil and selling dark bow 10 mil... obviously with this being a very new item, i can understand why the prices people wanting to sell for and wanting to buy for are different, the market needs time to have more in it. but my problem with this is that the price is going to go down, rapidly! so why pay 10 mil for something that is most likely going to go as low as 500-700k? (think of the whip, originally 5m, now about 1.7m and the dragon wc axe originally 5-6m and now about 2.5 and still dropping). there are similar topics sringing up with people asking for dragon arrows and dragon darts... again, once the market has been saturated with them, they will be nearly worthless in comparison to the starting price. the only thing that i can think of that will help maintain the prices at a reasonable level is the fact you need some pretty darn high lvls to be able to get them as a drop, you need 90 slayer for the bow and 83 hunter to be able to catch the implings that drop dragon arrows and dragon darts. do you think it is stupidity to buy these new things before the market has had time to be saturated with them? or just people wanting to have what's new out and not caring about the cost?

You just proved yourself to be smarter than 95% of the games playing. Your right on the money and about the money.

It is amazing. I saw the prices that people were buying it for. One of my Runescape friends PKed a dark bow yesterday. He sold it on the forum for 8M.

good for your friend, my only question would be to the guy who was pked... why take an item that you just bought for a rediculous sum into the wilderness?? omg how dumb lol. at least if i took my whip in the wildy, i would know if i lost it, it would cost me very little to replace (85 slayer lol, it would only cost me food for fighting).

I agree, its not a good investment i think, if i had enough money i would buy some and sell them immediately to gain money, but i wouldn't touch them otherwise until they go down in price.

I agree with your statement but their are some benefits to buying a weapon in its early stage because ultimatly there are only a few people with this new weapon so there is a general idea of price of the weapon but you can always go a little higher with a new weapon that no one really knows much about.
