Recently meaning with in the past several years, of course. I'd personally have to say the advent of blogging software. Whether or not its been a good change is debatable, but blogs have allowed so many more people to publish their ideas to the internet. Granted, its allowed a lot of people that probably shouldn't be allowed near a computer to add a lot of useless crap to the web, but I know I probably wouldn't be as engaged in the net as I am if it weren't for blogs (now the question is whether the stuff on my blogs is useless crap or not. :D ). So what do you think? If you had to pick one innovation that has revolutionized the way the web works, whether it be blogs or YouTube or Twitter or Flickr or whatever, what would you choose?

yeah you're right .its undoubtedly the blog . its made my work on the internet 100 times easier atleast. and normal people can be popular without having to register domain names ,buy webspace and design sites which only the elites could do it due to so many constrains. why haven't you mentioned your blog adddress.atleast could have a look. you tube is a subordinate for blogging as it helps in video blogging .flickr just about photo i think. twitter ! i gotta try first .thank you for starting a good discussion on an interesting subject. b bye

I would say social networking, business networking, blogging, video on the net, and the increasing oneness of the internet and text messaging. I remember, years ago, not that many years, maybe 10, people were talking about the internet as a way to meet people. Well, here we are in 2007, and more than ever, people are meeting people via the large number of social and business networking sites. I work in real estate, and see a mushrooming of real estate networking sites. Blogging is truly a liberating activity. A blogger is writer that would never be a writer in the paper classical sense. Also, with the usefulness of text messenging, many companies, and websites, are offering texting for information, by simply inputing some data in the cell phone or smart phone, the data getting process online, and information is fed back to the cell phone, smart phone user. This is incredible. You can even text to find the best bargains for products and receive text messages with that where the deals. Unthinkable in the near past.

Blogs are one of the largest enhancements in Internet. Some more things are going very rapidly. Social networking sites have the highest growth rate. Online money making sites are also growing rapidly specially in 2007. Another notable thing is domain and hosting costs are reduced too much so that every people now can think of a personal website not only a blog. You tube is a record breaking site for including free videos which at times bore high costs. So I think Internet is going to be more personalised day by day. But we have to combat the scams and spams which are spoiling the healthy development of Internet.
