I'm on a diet! Or, at least that's what I tell everyone. Ideally, I'd love to be on a diet. But, I guess you can't say you're dieting if you eat chocolate every other day. Lately, I've been craving carbs and chocolate. And, it's driving me nuts. Last month, I was exercising daily and dieting like a maniac. And, I know that I lost at least five pounds. But, this month, I have no control over the foods that go into my mouth. Don't ask me what's going on. I dont know! Has anyone found a way to stay on a diet, and resist chocolate cravings? I've tried the "do without food" diet. And, that just doesn't work for me. I need all my energy to stay up with an active preschooler, so skipping meals is out. I'm in desperate need of diet internvention. Please help!

Do you like milk? Buy non fat hershey's syrup and put a little bit into a glass of milk. hey, it's not perfect. But it's less calories then a candy bar and you get your glass of milk. Or try carob. It's a great chocolate alternative. It tastes very different and some people don't like it. But it's got a lot less fat. It's tough. I totally hear ya on this one. So I wish you the best of luck.

When I have a really bad chocolate craving but I'm trying to watch what I eat, sometimes I'll just eat a spoonful or two of chocolate syrup. I think hershey's chocolate syrup doesn't actually have that much fat or calories if you only have a little bit. Also, sometimes I'll drink a glass of chocolate skim milk, and that helps me with the craving, but I figure it's at least healthier than a candy bar or something.

Don't try to keep chocolate out of your diet completely if you're not ready. If you do then you are going to have crazy cravings and over indulge. A little bit every now and then isn't going to hurt you as long as you don't over do it. The two people above me gave you some really good ideas, and I would look into dark chocolate for sure. It's much better then milk chocolate, but if you hate dark then oh well. I've battled with the chocolate addiction myself, and I found that giving myself a little treat on the weekends and such has helped me with the cravings. Trying tot knock it out of my diet was a big mistake because when I gave into temptation I really gave in.

I became a vegan, so no more chocolate. hehehe After watching a few videos and reading several articles on dairy cows and laying hens and other farm factories, I decided to give it all up so all these animals won't have to suffer in my name anymore. Chocolate is make with milk, and I don't like dark chocolate at all... so I don't eat it anymore. And I just think of the animals I'm saving and it's not such a bad sacrifice. I list a pound a week in the beginning, it was great. But then I discovered potato chips...... so the trick is to not shop while I'm hungry and I can walk past the chips isle without even looking at them.
