by wasting an entire day of payroll and expenses with a worthless "No Contest" vote that didn't pass... and didn't matter. When will Harry Reid start mattering?

He will never matter, as none of the other democrats will either. This whole no confidence vote has no real meaning and is non binding as well. It is merely an attempt to embarrass Gonzales into resigning because legally they cannot force him to...unless they impeach him. Somehow I don't see that happening. ladyluna has it exactly right, and he should start doing his job immediately. It is way past time to roast some crooked democrats...which if the truth were known is probably the majority of them.

True, and now Reid has all but declared war on Gen Petraus. Is there no end to Reid's blatant treachery?

In the rush to put a shame to the Bush administration, American voters heavily voted againts the candidates of the GOP. What happened next is a Democrat-controlled Senate and Congress. Sadly, leadership of both Houses failed the high expectations thrown againts them. It seems that they are not up for the job. They are wasting our time and money. They should also be rejected by all Americans in the next election.

True! Republicans called their Representatives and Senators to task for their lack of leadership. Let's see if the Democrats in America are willing to do the same.

Hello ParaTed, I presume you're referring to the Gonzales "No Confidence" vote? Well, now that the vote has been quashed, I'd like to see Gonzales show that he has legal teeth, by going after Sen. Diane Feinstein, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, and any others who have had these shady land, or procurement funding deals surface of late. By golly, if they want to have confidence that he has teeth, then let him bare them. The Dem's ran on an integrity platform last November, yet since the election each of the above metioned Dem's have been linked to ethics scandals involving either: unscrupulous votes benefitting company's in which they are personally heavily invested, land deals for far below market price, and senate votes that appear to be linked to those land deals, or most aggregious -- directing VA funding projects to her spouse's business interests, by way of skirting the competitive bidding process. Hey Abramoff is gone, Delay is gone ... now it's time to ouster the Dem's who are as crooked as a corkscrew. Incidentally, one of the fired US Attorneys, David Iglesias, is from my state. According to our local sheriff, who had regular dealings with him, Iglesias was completely incompetent as a US Attorney. His prosecution log was horribly back-logged. His prosecution rate was terribly low, he refused to prosecute any cases of voter fraud. And, the biggie ... THE ONE that got him canned, was his feet-dragging on a high profile case where our state treasurer skimmed millions of taxpayer dollars through a scheme worked out with municipal bond sale representatives. The treasurer was charged, and tried, to end up in a hung jury. He was retried by the state's DA, and is behind bars today! So, if you hear David Iglesias cry foul, against Alberto Gonzales, the Bush administration, or Wiley Coyote for that matter, just recognize that he's full of beans. His career is over, because he was called out on being a lousy prosecutor, and he's just looking for the big payout!!!

Excellent suggestion! He should see their trumped up charges and raise with actual charges for the scummy Dems with their stinky fingers pointing at everyone but themselves! Oh, yeah, and good catch on the "no contest/no confidence" faux pas. ;~D
