I am terribly picky when it comes to eating cockroaches. I cut off the heads and marinate them overnight in a balsamic vinaigrette marinade....then I dice the bodies, batter them in a secret mix of herbs and spices and deep fry them in canola oil....best served over a dish of earhtworm noodles and sprinkled ever so lightly with dung beetle mucus

OMG, I was okay until I read "dung beetle mucus." It is hard to make me queezy (hazard of the profession) but that did it! Ha!

I like to peel the skin off with my teeth first. Then I dip it in melted butter and eat it. Then I take the skinless roach and let it sit in my mouth for awhile to soften it up. Finally when I get bored with that I just chew it up and eat it. Yummmmy ;)

Hahaha...You're too much!! (In a good way though, hehehe) Let's see, my favorite way to eat a cockroach is with the toe of my shoe. First, I grind it up reallllllly good, then I crush it till the shell gets warm & heated (by rapid toe tip movement). Once cooked to perfection I let the wastepaper basket eat it (or my cat, who is sooooo fond of them in her diet.) Outside of that, I won't eat them unless I get lost in the woods for a week and there's nothing else to eat.

Broiled of course! Those succulent and juicy-tender little yumsters are great when char-broiled with bbq sauce or even lemon juice. Also you might try them cooked in your chili or qickly microwaved and then added to your oatmeal. Those crunchy little devils make a fine additive to any stew. But go easy with the meat maul. Pounding the dear things will only make for a huge mess to clean up and you will force out most of the moisture and scrumptous innards. For a real treat, use the slow cooker to capture their full seductive and invigorating flavor. Of course, northern roaches are a bit frail and not as juicy as their heartier southern cousins. The blacker the better, I always say. Some people like to pluck the antennae, but I say the dickens with that. Gimme the whole slobby bugger just as long as it hasn't been sprayed with Raid. Oh my, I'm a getting hungry!

Naw, I don't write for any magazines. But I really loved this topic even though I would hammer any roaches that come into my territory...lol. Opps. I guess the radical bug activists will be on me for that. You certainly put a nice touch on the end of the day because this has made me laugh. Thanks so much.

HaHa! Great. I'm glad I could have a positive influence on your day! I hope the bug police don't awaken you too early in the morning. I'm certain they've probably already been notified. I'll probably get a visit too for even suggesting that we eat the little critters!

This discussion is indeed crazy. Anyway I'll play along. I'll fried it until it is crispy and eat the entire insect just like soft shell crap. Gross...

Lighten up a bit? What's that? And you do it by eating a roach...umm...Yuck! ha ha I am not sure what I do to lighten up a bit. I guess I joke around. But recently, I have been having so many migraines...it has been a bit hard to do that. :(

Um... fried? Like in batter like a deep fried oreo. Those are good. Or maybe covered in chocolate. lol I don't know for sure but if my partner had anything to say about it she'd tell me I was never getting another kiss from her ever.

The only way I would eat a cockroach is with someone elses mouth and teeth..in other word, you do the eating..I'll watch and possibly hurl.

Crazy you've done it again... Horrible!!! I wouldn't eat one even if someone tried to force me or for 1 million pound. Honestly, I'd feel sick watching someone do it. ~Joey

Hello crazynurse, I like it deep-fried. I tried it once in China, deep-fried cockroach in spicy sauce. Pretty nice though. My sister-in-law look at me covering her mouth with frown on her face. ;o)

Ew... I don't know about eating them, but my favorite way to kill one is to step on it, but then picking it up is a whole other drama!
