How often can you stare at the monitor before needing a break

I notice if I am at my computer for my than thirty minutes at a stretch (estimation only), I find that I feel like the monitor is saying to me, :"Look into my eyes. You are getting sleepy, very sleepy!" I also find that when I write, I can hardly see the words, and sometimes I am amazed it turns out all right. So obviously the computer, i.e. the monitor is having a hypnotic effect on me and I have to get around and walk around, which does not do me any good since I am trying to make money with the computer.
Okay you-all, how long can you last staring at the monitor and typing until your eyes feel blurry and you have to get up?

I am using my computer a lot now and before I bought my new monitor LCD, I just can stare to the monitor for 2 hours and then my eyes get so blurry and hurt so much; but when I change my monitor it change a lot, now I can stay online all the day in my eyes are fine.
I agree with you about the computer has a hypnotic effect on all the people, and the internet is a source of fun with not end, I think I will go to a gym because it is not healthy be all the day sit, a few day ago I got a terrible hurt in my right hip, I am sure it was for my chair.

I exercise in the morning and take an hours walk but when I am doing something interesting on the computer, I have to look at the clock below and think, "Ten o'clock time for my walk" finish what I'm doing and get out the door.

I don't find that it makes me sleepy unless i am already tired. I am grateful my screen doesn't put me asleep or I would be in major trouble when I was writing scripts for class work that can take hours.

I can't stare at the monitor for a long time right now, no more than an hour and only with the text enlarged because I need new glasses at the moment.
I can stare for hours when something is interesting and my glasses are fine. I love watching good YouTube videos and reading good web pages. I am a certified mouse potato and Internet junkie as I'm a shut in and use the Internet as my window to the world and contact with other people. Were it not for the net, I'd only have contact with my parents and I'd be one lonely camper.

i can sit before my PC for more than 2 hours and take a break after that.am too afraid of this rays and got dark circles round the eyes. so i will get up now after every two hours and take a break for 15 min and come back.Actually when i log into mylot i dont see the time and will work more than two hours,so am thinking to put a alaram to remind me after two hours.take care of your eye my freind.goodluck for earning money online

Thanks. I could not last two hours. When I hear of other writers saying they have been typing for four hours straight, I wonder how do they do it?
