are you collecting the new dollar coins? are you spending any of the dollar coins? I do not notice them in circulation yet. I do get them from banks, post office, machines...but rarely have I gotten it in exchange of a larger denomination.

I have the first two dollar coins which I purchased from E-bay uncirculaed, I think its going to be awhile before they are given out for change, as with any new coin people hold on to them. The coins are very lovely but many were misprinted, it is odd how the mint made so many mistakes. I will not spend m coins as I buy them for investments years from now.

No, I am not collecting the new dollar coins. But I have thought about it. I have not seen them in circulation yet.

The only way to get dollar coins to work is to stop printing paper $1 bills. Eventually, the supply of paper $1 will run out and people will realize that the dollar coins aren't worth that much because they are the "only game in town".

No, I haven't seen one in circulation yet either. However, I am an avid coin collector and I am going to buy the proof sets and the presidential coins from the us mint. Hey, Has anyone heard of the first spouse gold coins from the mint? do you think they will increase in value? would it be better to invest in the proof or uncirculated gold Anythoughts?

I did not know about the coins until I had my yard sale and some ladies were talking about them. I have Jefferson I am not sure how many there are going to be or what they are going to be. I did collect the other dollars pieces so I guess I am going to collect these as well. I saw my first one Saturday past. I hope to see more so that they are easy to collect.

I've picked a few of them up from work (I work at a bank) but I'm not sure how long I'll really be interested in it. I can tell you why you rarely get them as change, though. Most merchants add them to deposits going to the bank, because they don't like having them in their cash drawers. It's kind of awkward to have and count them when you aren't used to them, and most people have had their drawers set up the same way for long enough that they don't want to rearrange things. Or at least that's what several merchants have told me. I really wish people would start using them more though, because it would save the federal government a lot of money. Printing paper money that usually stays in circulation less than two years gets very expensive.

I haven't seen them. Although I do have quite a few of the old one's and I really will miss the older ones. I'll have to get a friend to send me one, as I actually collect coins and have a large collection thanks to my grandfather who used to work in the arcade business and started his when he was a boy. ~Joey

I'm guessing that we will, again, mostly see them as change from the post office
