Good question! I have to admit that at first I start to let my guard up and have a tendency to want to defend myself. However, I have been working really hard to take criticism well, particularly from my supervisor and the Vice President of our division. They have both taken me in as a mentor of sorts and I look up to all that they have accomplished in their careers. I feel like I can learn a lot from them and follow their footsteps if I take their feedback positively. I also like the word feedback over criticism... something much more palatable wiht that! :)

yes indeed we all tend to defend ourselves when criticize by people, at least your trying to lear how to take it. Feedback would be nicer to use than criticism. thanks so much!

The best thing to treat a person who curses you or criticizes you is to ignore him. Do not let him know that you are disturbed by his remarks. Refuse to give him the satisfaction of having your answer back. Argyment is generally useless and a waste of time. when we try to get even, we consume our energy and graduate embitter our spirits. Most of the time, we are in danger of descending to the level of the one who attacked us. In most cases, when a person treats you unfairly, you do not need to defend yourself. Intelligent people will judge your life by what you do.., not by what some slanderous gossip has had.
