How did you meet your best friend? How long have you been friends?

My best friends and I met in laguna around 7 years ago, I had friends before them but these guys know me from head to toe as I do with them. We had a lot of things in common and they liked hanging out at my place, I a very friendly guy but if I find that your not trust worthy you will only end up as an acquiantance. But these guys pulled their own weight at my home, befriended my folks and my siblings in other words my bestfriends became my second family thats why they are my bestfriends. They keep my most intimate of secrets and I am the keeper of theirs that is what we are brothers from another mother hahah

i met my very bestfriend for life in 1995. so, we've been bestfriends for 12 years. there are times when we need to be away from each other. but we remained friends.
before, we send each other letters (no internet yet and mobile phones aren't that affordable) to keep in touch. and when technology was here, we finally meet up online. and if we have time, we always try to meet each other and spend lots of hours together.
we still keep each others' secrets and when we are sad and lonely, we share it between us... anne

That is true anne, I regard my friends as treasures of my life, they are indeed like gold to me and if we have a fight I rarely let it exceed a month, Imagine guys have notoriously bad prides but we manage to eat them since we share a mutual bond that is our brotherhood. You are so right! I have met so many people who I thought were my friends but I later discovered they were backstabbers. My number one rule is to never say anything bad about my friends so it's hurtful when I find out they've been talking about me. So if you find a true friend hold on tight and don't let him/her go.

i met my best friend when i was pregnant with my second son and she was pregnant with hers. we were at the doctor's office. and you know how long that can be lady's. so we got to talking and found out that we had so much in common. our older boys were just about to start first grade and it turned out there were in the same class. they are only a few month apart. we have just felt this bond between us and have been friends now for over 12 years. Wow, now that i think about it she has been my friend for a very long time

Yes Indeed mam, finding common grounds is the easiest way to become close we loose our walls to people whom we feel is in the same shoes, it was nice to hear about you and your friends similar traits and I hope you and your friend stays together for the longest possible time. That was a sweet story ma'm :)

Then maybe they have been all close to you, but I guess a bestfriend for me is someone I cant trust with my life and likewise, someone who will defend you or believe you no matter what. SOmeone who is just like family, is there anyone in your friends who is like that?

well its one thing to have friends its another to have a best friend or best friends. A best friend is a person you can share all you secrets with, a person you know who will protect you no matter what and is going to slap some sense into you when you are wrong. That is basically how a bestfriend works.

My best friend and I met in high school band. She played clarinet and I played flute. She was 2 yrs older than me but we met in the hall one day and started talking and became best friends.
That was 33 yrs ago and we are still best friends.

Oh of course, we've had some good fights! But we value our friendship too much to give up on it. We're more like sisters. You fight and you get over it. A few weeks later you can't even remember what the fight was about.

I met my first best friend in work were both dance instructress and we meet in a dance toturial in the house of one our client. For tthat time we have contacted each other everyday even we did not see each other for a week we used to talk over the phone and sometimes hang in each others house. Until we met another a best friend and another on until we became four too.

Maybe because we can easly talk our private lives with us girls not like in men you are very hard to talk to anyone with your private experienced. You know girls we really became freinds if we have the same likes and sometimes personality.

why is it that girls make bestfriends quicker than men do?
It took me a long time before I awknowledge my friends were my bestfriends...took me a year before I would call a friend a bestfriend but look at us now they are my blood brothers the people I go to when I am wounded I hope its the same with you and your girls :)

I met my best friend while we were working together. I never really knew her and vice versa. We joined a Pacific Island group that they formed at our work and because we were involved in a lot of work activities we became very close friends and still are till this day. I have known her for 15 years and she knows everything about me and vice versa.

Wow you have the same situation with my mom her best friend was from work, she is actually a unrelated relative in our eyes, she has been to all the christenings of my brothers and sisters and even our nephews and nieces. I hope your friendship remains strong until the end :)

i have two best friends in my life.one gal is from my childhood.she was very good we were sharing everything in chilhood.now she moved away to some other place after her marraige and we meet hardly.we contact by phone sometimes now and i got a new best friend recently and we met in our computer classroom one yeat ago and become good friends.we were discussing a lot and our opinions were same,now he too moved to another place for job so we contact each other by pphone often have good freindship.

Distance is not a problem for real friends, I too have moved away from them, Yes I do miss them a lot, I just visit the memories we made when I feel so alone and without them by my side.
I just hope one day that when we meet again we are still the best of friends all of them that is :) all 8 of us are the best of friends and its quite complicated. I hope you feel better now? and I hope you get to see your friends again in the future..

i met my girl best friend way back in grade school, we were classmate in grade 4 until grade 6. we were in the same highschool and met a few more friends. when we entered college, one of our friend introduced us to guys from her school and we all become a group since then. now there are only 4 of us girls and 8 guys in our group. we never lost communiation and right now we all have jobs near each other. we make it a point to see each other weekly and have nights out. we been a group for almost 10 years now. one guy already got married and is working abroad, one girl migrated with her family to new york, one girl is moving to dubai a week from now.. there's alot of changes but with the technology now, we will always be intouch.

hmmm, i think i have a lot of bestfriends, so it would take too long for me to tell you how i met each one. some i met in high school, while i have a bestfriend who i didn't speak to or know quite well during our 4 years in high school. it was only when we saw each other enrolling for the same course after we had graduated from college that we began to become friends and now we see each other all the time, even though we're not classmates anymore. we used to go everywhere together that people started to call us sisters or twins. it was really funny.

Well sometimes the people you would least expect would become you best friend, same thing happened to my bestest best friend. we were complete oposites and we spent the whole summer ignoring each other because we thought we were so different. then he lowered his guard and asked to come by my place since my house was the local hang out of all the teenagers of my neighborhood so I welcomed him. He was actually the coolest and the nastiest of all my friends, but he is the only one that I listen to for advice since all the others would ask me for advice.

You've taken me down memory lane!!! I met my best friend met when we were in 8th grade. We didn't really talk to each other but we knew the same people. Then in 9th grade, we had each other for the same class. They (her and another girl) would look for me at lunch time and ask me to hang out with them. It was nice knowing that they made an effort to be my friend. I've always been a shy person so I've never been able to go up to people and start talking, but they did that to me and they made me feel comfortable. I hung out with them until I got married and moved away. I lost touch with the other girl who was also my best friend at the time but I have kept in touch with my best friend all these years. We've been friends for about 16 years. The other girl just recently got in touch with me so that's been nice getting to know her again.

Wow another amazing story, thanks dugsmom, I too was shy before I met those guys, I had a bad experience when I was a kid I could never find real friends and so I was scared to get close to anyone for so long thinking that they would think I was weird or something. But my bestfriends clung on to me and gave me the ride of my life :) I am so greatful for that...

I met my best friend in a book bar around 4 years ago, she is mild girl. At first, I don't like her, because she doesn't want to talk with me actively. When we are familiar, I know she is so shy that she never actively talk with strangers. I don't stay with each other together, now I haven't seen her for almost half a year although we live apart about only 50 meters. Sometimes, I want to see her, but her bf often sleep in days, so I can't visit to her house.

one of my best friends I met in 5th grade..he had literally been fresh off the plane from Ireland and he didn't know anybody...We started and since then we been there for each other ever since...helping each other out when in trouble and such...
my other best friend i met randomly at a party one night and manage to bump into him the next day...after that we started hanging out everywhere and camping out with our families
and the third best friend i just met in class in college...i was having trouble with a program and he helped me out...from there he showed me a few cool things and we started hanging out outside of class and then working together
