Have you heard of elimination communication?

Using elimination communication (EC) parents can learn their baby's cues and give them a chance to use a potty rather than soil themselves in a diaper. I've heard of parents doing this on many different levels. Some EC full time with or without diapers and some do it very part time. It is also called infant potty training and natural infant hygiene. I want to try this with my baby but the only concern I have is that I will feel guilty if I ignore her cues and allow her to use her diaper. So, what do you think about EC? At first, I thought it was strange but it intuitively makes sense to me. I live in the United States and EC is not a common practice here. I read that in other parts of the world people do use some kind of EC and that their babies are not dependent on diapers as long as ours are. I'm interested to hear opinions on it and if anyone here is doing it.
