What did you want to do before your kids were born?

Before my daughter was born, I wanted to finish my degree. Or, even get one started. But, it seemed that fate and lack of finances always stood in the way. Now that she's here, it's hard enough to pay bills with one income, and now I'm wishing I'd tried harder. So, what did you dream of doing before your kids came along? Did you want to travel the world? Start your own business? Write a novel? Have you accomplished those goals, or are you still waiting your turn? Please share!

I wanted to go back to school and get my degree, and just as you my tiny wallet always got in the way. I am also a single mom, and it is very hard to work full time, make that money stretch, and spend quality time with my daughter. I'm so afraid she'll grow up without me! I want to hear her first word and see her first steps, not the babysitter! But while she sleeps at night I make jewelry to sell, and its a good extra piece of pie, perhaps one day I'll make a full-fledged business out of it!

Are you selling your jewelry on Ebay? I know a lot of single moms that make good money selling that way, too. Plus local craft fairs are good. But, they're not as convenient. Best of luck with your business and daughter.

Before my kids were born I first got married. I then went back to school to get my masters degree in teaching. I was substitute teaching when I had my first child. When I had my second, I decided to become a stay at home mom.
