Beach or Swimming pool?

I know people who love the beach and prefer swimming in the salty water rather than in a swimming pool. But also know others who prefer a swimming pool without waves etc. I personally prefer the beach big time...i feel like more free, and the place is way nicer, because the pool has no fine sand to stand on, etc. Which of the two do you prefer?

We're pretty alike in that then add :) So what do you like to do at the beach, apart from swimming?

I prefer the pool instead the beach! Since a pool you know whats under your feet! When i am swimming in the beach i feel a bit uncertain when u touch the bottom whereas in a pool i dont have to worry about all this! And also from my point of view i feel that the pool is much safer than the sea

Well pools and beaches are safe if things are done the right thing and there is the appropriate surveillance. Anyway thanks for replying.

I don't often swim in the sea but i go swimming at the towns pool all the time. When i do go swimming in the sea i'm always afraid of jelly fish and sharp objects. I don't mind the waves but i would prefer the swimming pool for safety lol.

Well people who more or less fear swimming in the sea for safety reasons are normally the ones who don't get the chance to go there often. Jellyfish are a problem, but it depends on the time of the year and the sea you're swimmin in. The place where i live is in the central atlantic, and there are not many jellifish there fortunately. But in other areas like the Mediterranean you must be careful. Swimming pools can also be dangerous anyway, so one must be careful everywhere.

Both have their good points and bad points. I perfer the pool because it is cleaner thanks to chemicals and there are no fish and their poop swimming around but the beach had fine sand as you said to walk on also at the swimming pool you can't build sand castles. You have more room to move around on a beach that you don't in a swimming pool. Such a hard choice but I guess I would have to say a pool since I really hate fish!

well it's cleaner due to the chemicals...but it has chemicals....what you gain in one side you lose it in the other...Yep, definitely a hard choice dragon LOL.

it actually depends on what you really feel like doing. I like to go to the beach whenever I want to be engaged in water sports, when I want to feel the touch of nature, get a free pedicure while you walk on the sand, or for girls, get a view of those hottie tanned guys surfing or doing those extreme sports by the waters. And for the pool, I prefer swimming in it when i want to feel the calmness of the water, the coolness, for doing some laps to be fit, and when you don't want to feel the salty water on your skin. Either of the two, they're both just great. I love the waters!

Beach.I like the atmosphere there; more romantic, more joy, more possibilities for relax. I am not a swimmer, just have some relaxing bath in the water.

I like both of things. At the swimming pool I have a lot of relax and it's near my house, so I can go there when I want. The beach is long 60 km from here, but I like to go there, too.

well in my case the beach is closer lol. I just find the sea more amusing with the waves etc. The swimming pool can get boring if you're not accompanied by someone.

I very much prefer the beach too. But my daughters certainly prefers the swimming pool since it is a lot smaller and they feel safer. They get to enjoy the pool more than the beach.

Hi LightninStrike. I would prefer the swimming pool. Though one can enjoy the scenery in the beach but I dont think it is safe there.

It is safe ellie, if you follow 2 or 3 easy safety rules and you pay attention to what the lifeguards tell you. Most of the drownings happen because people go for a swim in places where they shouldn't, or when the sea is too brave.

I'd prefer beach over swimming pool. I love the feel of the sand beneath my soles, the waves that cradles me like a baby. Also, I love to see the breathtaking sunset as the sun kisses the sea just over the horizon. I love seeing and watching those various people doing their own stuffs like building sand castles, looking for shells and the like. I love taking pictures of every little thing that catches my interest. You can't see all these by the pool, right? I just love everything the beach offers including the beauty of the nature, the sea breeze, the clash of the waves and all. Beach rocks!!!

Oh yeah, the feel of fine sand under the feet is awesome really, and also the sunsets at the beach.... The swimming pool can be more comfortable for some people, but it's definitely not as romantic.

That's actually a tough one for me. I would have to say the beach also if I had to pick one of the 2. I do like to go to the swimming pool with my kids also. But I like the beach a little bit better because like you said its more free and you can do pretty much what you want.

Well if you have small kids maybe the pool is safer, specially if you are going to a brave sea, like the one i live near to. Undertow and waves can be dangerous sometimes.

I like the beach too. But here, we do not have a beach at any nearby places. We stay in a central place. I like swimming too but in a swimming pool and not in the beaches. But I like to enter the waters in beaches.

Well obviously if i lived far from the coast i'd use the pool more. I love to swim so if a pool is all i had available then i'd stick to it.
