Did you know we have several radical Muslim paramilitary compounds in the USA?

I am so shocked! But, what am I thinking? we have open borders. We train extremists to fly our planes. Why should I be shocked? But I am! It seems that there is a village in upstate New York called Islamberg that is a paramilitary compound...just one of about 12 that have sprung up! Where's the FBI? Where's Homeland Security! ARGH! That is a bit unnerving, but hardly surprising. I would like to believe the government is on top of this, but who knows for sure. We allow all kind of radical crazies to set up operations in this country, so I doubt much will be done until something disastrous happens.

I didn't read your article, but I watched a TV show about Islamberg last week and read an article on CNN about it today. Islamberg is not a new compound. They have been at that location for many years, have no enemies in the town nearby, helps out the town after the flood a good number of years back, and probably would not even be a concern for anyone if it had not been for September 11th.
From what I understand, the government knows about all the compounds and keeps a close eye on them. However, the compounds can not be closed down without a good reason.

I read the article and some of the comments. One of the comments was that the FBI and CIA are well aware and are gleaning information. When the compound has served its purpose then they will take care of it. I found that response to be interesting. You know the saying, "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer!" Well it seems are enemies are pretty close.
