quality discussions

What do I have to do to get people to respond to my discussions? I've posted over a hundred and I think the most responses I've gotten is 12. Everyone says post quality discussions, but what constitutes a quality discussion? When I do searches, the same ones always seem to pop up and they're never mine. Are questions like Cake or Ice cream? What's in your fridge? and What number am I thinking of? really considered quality? I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.

I think I would be up to discussing topics more intellectual than what kind of ice cream I like(and no I did not respond to those ones). I'll keep an eye out for your posts.

Thanks, I'll try to keep an eye out for yours too. I'll admit, I respond to all types of post, but it just seems that the same ones keep popping up all the time. I'm sure that's why they have so many responses, if you're always on page one you're bound to get more responses.

ladyg1, I've added you to my Buddy List, too. We can all support each other to get some discussions going with some meat to them!

I think mylot is still working on attracting people who are willing to engage in quality discussions. The only discussions I've gotten responses to are the silly ones like what kind of pizza do you like. But I know a few people on here that are attracted to good discussions and I think things will pick up soon. In the meantime, I have you on my buddy list and I'll make sure I contribute to your discussions as often as I can. Maybe we can attract other people with our chats. :-D

Thank you, that's great! Maybe we can attract more serious minded people. There's a new member on here, thepromptwriter, who will undoubtedly come up with some good ones. I know her from another site. And Manodogs and Ethan72282 are also people I know from another site that will probably come up with some good discussions.

Its not only quality it depends on more popular keywords. After making discussions you are allowed to select tags. There you have to select tags very popular & generalised word. Else your discussions gone to Brain Busters section.

I always tag my discussions. I try to use general ones I think people would search for. I always wondered what the brain buster section was. Thanks for your response.

Its often hard to get a response in a good discussion because you have so many one liners in here that when you post a topic its already on the 3rd or 4th page in 10 seconds.

Everybody is having a hard time making quality discussions in MyLot due to the fact that there are more controversial and nonsense topics being posted and responded. This non-quality topics would stop if people would stop responding to them.

Yes questions like the ones you mentionned in your discussions are something you shouldn't post. It won't get you anywhere or anything. You should post about what people want to know, something new and something that will be informative to others.
