well you need to read all about language programing, I think it is the most important in the computer science, you would to start for test all the freeware that you find and test some tips because there are very useful and remember that the web programming language such like Java and Html are the most important nowadays. In internet you will find a lot of tutorials and information that will help with your studies; also you can download source code and learn from it.

Well I have a bit different opinion. You will have to read but how you learn is by doing. So, I would suggest join some open source projects. That will help you learn both programming techniques, software development, and team work. If you do not like open source philosophy, then well you can still try coding different problems. And hell yes there are many many great tutorial sources on the web. Look out for open course ware websites like MIT OCW. There is alos Rice's Open learning Initiative. Good Luck

I am sorry that no response to this discussion has been received so far. I am also sorry for not being able myself to offer you some advice on the subject. But I can suggest a site where there is an international community of IT professionals of whom there are experts who are very much willing to help you. the site name is www.dannyweb.com Go to the site, join the forum there and raise your doubts about computer education and related matters. I believe you will get good advice from there.

Hmm not really sure but I am going into the IT field myself so I find that the site suggested by the first response could be a pretty good source of knowledge. Rated +.
