If you were pregnant, how did you know, (before taking a test) did you know? What made you take a test?

Do I have a story for you! hehe Okay so all my life (ever since I got my period at age 11) I had always had a hard time with periods. They put me on birth control to regulate them and then at age 14 they took me off to see if my body would do it on it's own (which it didn't). They told me I had problems ovulating. So from then on, I had doctor after doctor tell me that there would be a slim to none chance that I would ever be able to concieve. And then in the year 2000 I got diabetes (to add to my thyroid problem) and from then on was told even if I were to get pregnant (which they still said it was slim to none) that I would never be able to carry to term, that my body would never be able to handle it. So hubby and I never talked about kids. We honestly didn't want to have children so going off of what doctors told me, we weren't worried at all about getting pregnant. So we get married and go on the honeymoon and do "married couple" things of course.... 10 weeks go by and I start getting a very sharp pain in my left side near my ovaries (I have had cysts on my ovaries before and also had cervical cancer) so I went to do the doctor because I was scared it was a cyst or worse. So she schedules me for an ultrasound. A couple days later I go for the ultrasound and the technician is asking me questions and rolling the little dopplar thing over my tummy and he asks me "could there be a chance you are pregnant?" I'm like yeah I suppose since I am married but I don't think so because of what the doctors in the past say. So he proceeds to tell me I am pregnant. I seriously thought he was joking so I am asking him over and over again if he was kidding??? He turns the monitor and says "look, here is your 11 week old baby". I don't think I have EVER been that scared/happy/sick/traumatized/worried/everyother emtotion you can think of, in my life. I am crying and crying and crying and finally calm down enough to finish the exam and he gave me a picture of my "peanut". Called the hubby and asked him to meet me (he was scared that it was cancer). He was already crying before I had even told him we were pregnant because he thought I had cancer. So I handed him the picture and of course he started crying harder! It was cute.

yes, with both of mine it was like this. The first time, I thought maybe I had a stomach bug, but with the second I just knew, because I felt just as I had with my first.

I have never been pregnant, as most of you know, but I think it would be funny to share my mother's story. She never had a regular cycle in her life. They ranged from not getting a period for a whole year all the way up to bleeding for almost a year straight. She was also on birth control. My father used to be a lounge entertainer and one night she and her friend were stitting at a bar table watching him(she'd been feeling a little under the weather) and there was this psychic guy wandering around talking to people. At one point he came up to her and told her she was pregnant with a girl. She laughed it off, but then started feeling sick and weak soon after. When she eventually got around to seeing a doctor, she found out that she was, indeed, pregnant.

wow, that is crazy! I know one of my friends was at the grocery store with me and this native american woman walked up to her and said, how far along are you? And she was like what? The woman said how far along are you on your pregnancy? MY friend did not look pregnant mind you, skinny little thing, My friend was kind of insulted, but sure enough a week later she found out she was pregnant. =) Good story, thanks for sharing.

I have never taken a pregnacy test, & I already have three kids...lol..Each time I get pregnant, my body tells me right away! I have the same sickness each time. which is: the flu for three weeks...It is a flu that I can't shake and the line that appears on my belly right after. I experienced it with all three of my pregnancies....my blood type is AB-, so then I guess thats why I come to having the flu....right after the line begins to show on my belly, I go to the hospital right away & sure enough I am one month pregnant! I love being pregnant, but having such rare blood often seems like a burden...I have to get a RH shot when I find out that I am pregnant, during my sixth month of pregnancy, right after child birth and the last one a month after child birth! Not to mention my kids get the same shot twice! Nonetheless I would do it all over again just to have another baby....

My periods were always messed up so my first 2 pregnancies I didn't catch it right away. With my first one I was feeling sick alot so I finally decided to take a test. With my second one I was late, but didn't really think I was pregnant. I took a test half as a joke because my sister was taking one at the same time. Well, hers was negative and mine was positive. With my 3rd one I had been feeling sick so I took one. It said negative so I let it go. But 2 weeks later I was still sick and still late so I took another test and it was positive :)

I kept falling asleep at work all of a sudden. I was dozing off mid morning, at lunchtime and then again in the afternoon. When I went home I would lay down to rest for a couple of hours. Then my friends at work said to get tested because they thought I was pregnant, so I did and voila, I was :)

With my eldest, I had morning sickness before I even missed my period. I have an eating disorder, I was in remission for oh about a year when I conceived; but I think my history made me more sensitive to the hormonal changes that cause morning sickness. With my daughter we were TTC for 3 months before it happened. I was so tired even very early in the pregnancy. This will sound odd but with my younger son we were TTC for about 3 months again. On the morning of 9/11 we were 'busy' and I missed the news for a couple hours. When I did hear the news, some how I *knew* we had conceived that month. I was in a crazy panic that I'd be living in some tunnel or bomb shelter when my baby was due- but I just knew that I was expecting then.

My periods were quite regular. They will come correctly at the 28th day. And me adn my husband were planning for a baby. So the month where I missed the period, I started suspecting that I am pregnant, after three days I did a home test and confirmed it. Weekend we went to hospital and consulted the doctor. I am still pregnant with my first baby.

Well, with my son, I just knew I was pregnant. I was that .1% of women who got their perios while pregnant. My doctors kept telling me that the blood tests and urine tests were negative and that I wasnt until I finally missed my period. They gave me another blood test and it said I was only 6 weeks according to the HGC hormone that was in my body... I demanded an ultrasound and when I got one a week later, they told me I was 19 weeks 5 days... almost 5 months and that it was a boy. I just knew I was pregnant. Im pregnant again and this time, I knew. I took a test 3 days before my missed period and I was pregnant again. :-D but I was only a month when I found out thankfully

just missing my period, my first one was the biggest shock, my hubby and i had been together unprotected since we were 14 so i thought i was immuned to pregnancy, then at 17, i missed my period for the first time, i didn't get it in november, so it was thanksgiving, so i thought i should've had it i'ma take a test, i did and it was positive. my bf was away on a family vaca for the holiday so i waited til he got home and when i told him the first thing outta his mouth was, is it mine? i couldn't believe it, but then i could! the second and third were kinda planned.

Then it was after 4-5 days when was due for my periods but never had that then I was more towards that I am pregnant, next day I went to doc for check up , she took my pap test and after 2 days I got a positive report.

I conceived my son within a couple of days of getting married. My husband is military, and is stationed 1100 miles from where we are both from, so about a week after our wedding, we loaded most of my stuff up (some is still in storage at my parents house) and brought it up here. The drive was long, and it was rainy when we got here. I HATED unpacking everything. About three weeks after I got here, my husband brought home a pregnancy test because I was always so tired. I was pregnant. I honestly thought I was just tired and sick from unloading everything in the rain, and hormonal because I missed my family.

When i miss my period i knew i was pregnant. Aside from that i got morning sickness, always feel dizzy and vomit. When i encounter these symptoms i go on portable pregnancy test and found it was possitive, afterwards go to the clinic to confirm.
