and cheese! its mighty tasty I just made it for supper. I used the Italian sausage style Hamburger helper. While browning the ground meat add slices of pepperoni. After it browns then drain. Return it to skillet and add the water and sauce mix. Then add shredded cheddar cheese (about 1/2 cup.) Cook the rest as directed on box. It is so much better than plain old Hamburger helper. Add shredded cheese a top of each serving and I also use hot sauce for more flavor. Does any one else ever make boxed suppers? ( I do occasionally) not all the time. If so have you any other suggestions or variations?

When I was in college, my roommate and I would use HH and make tater tot casserole with it. I don't remember what flavors we used, but it seems like the cheesy ones were the best. We'd make it according to the directions, and toast tater tots in the oven while it was cooking. When done, we'd put it into a casserole, top it off with the tots, and some shredded cheese. We'd then bake it just a little longer until the cheese browned up. Nowadays, I will add a package of frozen mixed veggies to the stuff while it's cooking. The kids like the veggies in it, and well, if the kids eat them, I guess it's a good thing. :) I'm going to have to give that pepperoni a try sometime. Can't be much different than the pizza pasta that I've made.

Thank you for the best response. :) I was just going through a recipe book my mom put together, and found a tuna casserole recipe with pepperoni in it. Hmmm... that's WAY different. Why not? It may be good!

Well, here is the recipe I found... Tuna & Noodles 1 pkg. egg noodles 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1/2 can of milk 1 can tuna 1 pkg pepperoni Cook noodles according to directions. Drain water and add cream of soup. Pour milk about 1/2 way full into soup can, and add. Add tuna and mix well. add pkg of pepperoni to mixture. Stir. Bake at 350 for 15-20 min. or until hot. Enjoy!!!

Well this is a touchy topic for me and my family. Due to dads health we are on a low sodium diet. Can you phothom how much sodium is in one serving of this dish by any chance? A usual doseage for an adult is 2000mg a day. Now this meal will contain anywhere from 1000 to 1500 mg of sodium I'd guess. As most Hambutrger helper already contains roughly 900mg or so per serving. Now pepperoni contains roughly about 600mg per serving and the cheese around 800mg. That's WAY too much for my taste any more. Well not my taste as I love it but the sodium content is too far off my diet as of late. I miss all the "prepared" food which is all too high in sodium. I never realized this till dads health and we were asked to go low soium. Anyhow it does sound delicious. I make maybe one or two packaged meals a week anymore due to this. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

We do not have boxed dinners often and I love hamburger helper just the way it is. Heh...though your suggestion does sound rather good though. I would try it if it wern't for the pepperoni. (I don't eat pepperoni much anymore) That one happens to be a long story but at any rate it does sound good! Thanks for the suggestion. I myself am a big fan of tuna casserole.

This sounds really good. I would think the pepperoni would add a nice zip to the dish! We also use Hamburger helper on a regular basis. It is a nice quick meal and super inexpensive! I almost always add onions to the meat I am frying and often add fresh basil, parsley and oregano.

My husband actually loves boxed dinners. Hamburger helper is one of his favorites. Not because he like a quick meal or anything like that, he actually loves them. I will try your suggestion.... he will be very impressed with me. Lol
