Do you answer discussions based on friends or based on subject of interest?

I have two sorties on mylot page that display discussions from interests as well as discussions from friends. I find myself mostly answering discussions from interests. I think that's the case because most of the time they're newer discussions. By the time the discussions from friends show up, they already have like 20 responses at least (some 200).

I support friends first. Then I find other areas of supporting newbies or new discussions. I like doing a mix because I post around 100 a day sometimes less but mostly around that figure. When I get chance I'm going to try and post 300. (no jokes) I'm trying to gain a bigger understanding for the payment system. As I share advice and tips over at newbiegen.com ~Joey

I do both. But my routine everyday would be that I check my friends' discussions first and see if there is anything interesting for me to respond to. Then if I still have time, I would browse around my interests and check out those fun discussions and start getting myself in there. I find this way more systematic and I would remember what I do and better organize my time here on mylot. At first I didn't follow this routine and I was everywhere all over the places and I was indeed a bit lost.

Of course , I try to respond to friends' topics first. My next priority would be to look at the topics of my interests. You can have an active discussion here on topics of your liking . Don't you too feel so ?

i do both, but mostly respond to discussions from my interests. like you, i prefer newer discussions, not several weeks old already, as the case in the "discussions my friends started". i also prefer discussions with less than 30 responses by the time i respond to it... because i have a habit of revisiting discussions to read the responses and it's easier to find my response to it if i don't have to search for it in several pages of responses.

I try to keep all of my friends just within my interests so that I can respond to their discussions easier. I've quit adding just anyone as a friend since I find it kind of pointless to have a bunch of friends who I never respond to and friends who never respond to me.

I respond to topics that engage my thoughts that gives me time a sense that my experience or my expertise is needed. If a friend does make such a discussion then I answer with more gusto and more thoughts. But mostly its the content and the thought that is conveyed by the post.

i do both. but i check out my friends' discussions first. if i run out of interesting topics to respond to, i check the discussions from my interests next.

Uhm, I usually respond to the discussions my friends started. Then, if nothing from their discussions would interest me anymore, I would answer from recent discussions. And once again, if I do not find anything from that category, I would respond new user discussions. :) But my priorities would be answering to my friends' posts. :)

i do check first the different discussions my friends posted. if there are topics seem to be worth replying for then i try to share my ideas with them. generally, i find most of their topics very interesting. in addition, i find myself enjoying too some of the topics posted by new users or newbies. they got fresher ideas too.

I usually look at the subject and if it gets my attention then of course I'm going to read the rest of the post and if I got something to say then of course I'll post a response. lol

I have all my friends set to Notify ON and that works for me. I too prefer to be on the main or early pages. I know which ones get loads of responses and so I check their profile and then discussions and see how many have done so. That way I avoid being buried and can answer a few more of my friends that are popular discussions. Good luck with yours.

Since I have all of my friend's notifiers turned on....every discussion they start goes straight to my email....I still only answer the one's that I am interested in or that I think I can add something to... If I finish all of my friend's discussions...then I look at the new discussions.... I do not care how many responses they have...I have never even use the discussions from my interests button...
