Are males really harder to train?

I want to get a dog for my apartment in the future and was wondering what your opinions were on whether it is better to get a male or female dog. Our apartment is all carpet, aside from the kitchen, so I don't want to have to keep washing the carpet from accidents. How easy/hard was it to train your dog indoors?

We've got two girls in the house and one boy. In my opioion the girls were easier to train. We've had the boy since Christmas and he still sometimes decides to mess in the house. I know this sounds cruel but we just always rubbed their noses in it gave them a little spanking told them no and then took them outside. But for the accidents on the carpet there are some really good cleaners that work pretty good

I have had both and thinking about it, I never really had any trouble with either. Maybe I was just lucky.

I have always found that males are easier to train on the larger breads and girls on the smaller breeds. Labs in general are easy to breed wether they be female or male. But I can only base it on the dogs that I have had. My sheltie has been horrible and he is a male. Yet I had miniture collie that was a girl that trained very easily.
