Suggestions to spice up a recipe?

Last week, I made what ended up being a somewhat bland pasta sauce, consisting of cream of chicken soup, canned chicken chunks, and frozen peas, carrots, and corn. We put this over some plain pasta, and called it a meal. Of course, we have leftovers now, and I'm trying to come up with something I can add to the sauce to make it taste better. What sort of herbs or spices would you recommend that I add while I reheat the sauce?

I'd.add.diced.green.and.red.peppers,.onions.garlic.some.basil.and. some.parmesan.cheese..It.would.still.be.bland.but.at.least. it'd.have.some.flavour.

I doubt I can slip the peppers past my fiance (he's a picky eater), but I think that the rest will definitely help. He'll love the parmesan part, as it's one of his favorite things to put on EVERYTHING! :)

Ooh, hot sauce would make this even tastier! I'll have to see if I have remembered to buy any yet... I hate having to restock the fridge with condiments after a move!

I think Franks Red Hot sauce can make anything taste better. It has some flavor, and is not just heat like some hot sauces. I know another poster also suggested cheese, which is another good suggestion. Do you and your fiance eat bacon? If so, try cooking up a few pieces to your desired doneness (I like my bacon more crispy than my boyfriend does) then dice them up and add to the sauce. It will give it a nice smoke taste. Some fresh ground pepper with that would also be good. It's kinda like an easy Cabonara sauce.

I'm on this new kick where I am insisting on adding Sriracha sauce to everything. If you aren't sure what it is, it's a garlic-y chili sauce that is soooo good. If you're a fan of hot sauce, it really adds to things. You could also try adding rosemary, onions, cheese, or even some salsa. I suppose it depends on what kind of flavors you like. I'm the kinda girl who might add some hot sauce and cajun spice and call it a day. That really is a clever idea to use canned soup like that to make a sauce. I might try that myself sometime.

Ah yes, I've heard of Sriracha sauce. A friend of mine who is really into Thai food recommends it highly as well. :) The original recipe was based on a chicken and "dumplings" meal that my sister made, though she was able to find it pre-mixed, put out by Tyson. (I say "dumplings" because it was more like pasta.) I couldn't find it in our grocery store, but I thought I could recreate something very much like it. Now it just needs more spice, and it will be a good recipe! :)
