We were sitting in a restaurant, and there were bunch of guys sitting on the corner busy talking with each other. All a sudden we've heard a girl moaning...groaning...sounds like somewhere in that restaurant she's busy with doing "passionate things". Turned out one of those guys has a bizzare ring tone as I may say...tsk...tsk...tsk. Gosh, can they put something else as a ring tone since there were many children in that restaurant and my 4 years old daughter kept on asking what was that sounds.... Technology nowadays makes it possible to just put any sounds as ring tone for your phobe. Some creative, some bizzare, and some just really annoying Have you ever heard annoying or even bizzare ring tone ??? Or do you have one of those unusual ???

I heard a wide range of tones, and people get creative everytime. I download some from the internet and I'm amazed that there are a lot of choices to keep your phone sound exciting. But others abuse this, like the one you heard in that restaurant. For them it may be funny, but for others who have children, like you for instance, it isn't something to be laughed at. I hope people can be more sensitive whenever in public. Not all people have the same taste, reaction or response.

And I do agree people have different taste, reaction and response. I just wish people that has dirty ringtones more sensitive about other people feelings especially for children that not their ear to hear. Thank you for your respond !!!

I heard one ysterday that was a babys cry. I have various songs on mine. The person with the ringtone you described has no sense of what is acceptable in decent society. Sadly there are a lot of people like this around nowadays.

It is definitely inappropriate to use that type of ringtone, especially when you are in a public place where there is children. Some people are so ignorant and insensitive to the people around them. If people have to have their cell phones on in a place like that, they should keep the phone in vibrate mode so others do not hear it. I would never download or record a ringtone like that on my phone. Hopefully I will not hear anyones cell phone go off with a ringtone like that. Technology these days allows us to do just about anything.

That's true, he should keep that ring tone for himself. Your daughter sounds like mine, because she changed my water dropping ring tone to her favorite dance song....and I love to see her dance...

I hate those annoying ring tones!! You know, they wouldn't be so bad if the person only kept them during times where they wouldn't interfere with other people. I just have songs that I like for my ringtones, but if I go into a restaurant I turn my phone to vibrate so it won't even ring outloud and annoy the people sitting around me. If you have a ringtone you need to be respectful about it. As far as the dirty ring tone goes...I don't think that should even be a ringtone! People these days are so immature.

Well, I was just amazed how people have the nerve to use that dirty ring tones and let other people hear it outloud, instead of swith it to vibrate mode. I also have a music as a ringtone, the one that my daughter loves so much and makes her dance everytime she hear it. Thank you for your respond !!!

No, I can not hear ring tones, but my partner has a particularly aggravating piece of music on his, which he uses to annoy people who have previously annoyed him, childish but it is good anger management for him. I do agree though that this type of "passionate" jokey ring tone is best kept for the weekend party scene and it is entirely wrong to subject families at a lunch to that type of thing. There is a lot of talk about protecting children but it doesn't seem to translate into real life, ie if there are children around behave yourself! A good point, and maybe ring tone users will take this one on board. Nobody wants to spoil their enjoyment of fun ringtones but there really is a time and place, yes? ummm how DID you explain the sound away?

That person should be shot. I am a real strong believer that people should turn their stupid cell phones off when they are in public. And that guy with an offensive sound where children are present should be punished. I have not heard any such ring tones but have heard some that I thought were really annoying. My brother in-law has a rap song on his that I think is a little discusting but not as bad as the one you mentioned.

When home, my husband sets his cell phone to vibrate, cause he knows that if it goes off while here, I'll most likely be taking it outside and seeing just how far I can really throw something. Ring tones drive me up the wall, I find them very annoying, and they have a way of grating on my nerves. I don't know why, but I find a lot of things get on my nerves these days. I have heard the one you have mentioned in this discussion and it really bothers me that people have this on their cell phone while out in public, around children. I have also heard this one, not sure what it is called, but it makes this steady beeping sound. Also one that makes sounds in like a wave fashion. Again I don't know that names of these ring tones, since I just generally dislike the idea of cell phones to begin with, and if I had my way when people were out in public they'd be turned off.

Well...some people just enjoy irritating other people with those unusual ring tones. Or maybe just wrong ring tone at the wrong time and at the wrong place....

It just shows how different people are. Maybe that annoying and creepy sound to most of us are funny to some people particularly the owner of that cellphone. There are so many annoying and crazy ringtones that are proliferating our ears right now (sounds of animals, favorite line from newscaster, movies, tv shows, etc.), hopefully they will be responsible enough to know if it's already offensive to other people. Me, I just stay with the original ringtone that was program in my phone.

That is just rude and disgisting of him. You know, it's bad enough that he is such a pervert like that, but ot expose it to eeryone else is just sick. i have an "unusual" ring tone, i guess. It is a song from my favorite band, AFI. It's pretty loud and startlng when you hear it. It usually makes me jump. Maybe i will change it to a different song of theirs...

You are right. Some people have got such ringtones which makes people turn around for a while , some just stare and pass comments at those people silently. I have a very melody hummingbird ringtone which sounds so melody.I hate to keep filmsongs as tones as they beep with loud noise.

That is horrible, I have never heard one like that, but I am sure that there were a lot of people that were offended by it. I can't believe they thought it was ok to let it ring like that with children present. I have an unusual ring tone on mine, but it is not disgusting or anything. It is just a rooster crowing. I think it is funny, and my son was the one who put it as my ring tone, so I kept it.

Well, I've never heard of that, but am not really surprised. You can buy just about anything these days. I do think it is totally in poor taste. It just shows a little about the character and mentality of those who have it.

I've not heard any weird ones. But I am frequently annoyed by cell phones ringing, buzzing, playing music, whatever, in public places where it distrubs others. I think the most annoying is in a movie theatre or during a worship service. I think that people that talk on their phones in public forget that everyone can hear them and that private conversations don't belong in public. Once I was in the doctor's waiting room where a man took a business call and talked loudly even carrying the conversation down the hall as the nurse took him in to see the doctor. I don't want to be in everyone's conversations, thank you. And people who talk on the phone at their dining table when they are not dining alone is just plain rude. There should be a guide to appropriate cell phone use included with each phone.

Well, you don't say....I've seen a lot couple having dinner together but not really talking to each other. Instead they both busy talking to their mobile phones....hahaha. Unbelieveable. I think people should know better when they need to turn off their mobile phone in public area as well as during movie theather too before someone start throwing them with bunch of popcorn to stop the phone ring....hehehe Thank you for sharing !!!

There should be some controls over such things. It was a very indecent response from the part of the owner of the phone which played the vulgur ring tone. I use the original good old telephone ring 'tring...tring...' in my mobile phone. It's a gentle tone, it's more telephone like. Thank you for bringing this debatable topic for discussion.

I don´t think there are some controls over such things except for the person itself. Otherwise they will say that against human right.....(yikes). I mean that person should know better what is approriate and what is not....

At present there is no control, but society should think about it. Govt can ofcourse introduce certain controls. What you said about the human rights interference is right. They create much hazards in similar cases. Self discipline among individuals is a nice idea to hear, but in practice there will allways be violators. If some rules against violation is in force, number of violations would be few. Thank you.

cellphone ringtones are supposed to be self-regulated or self-monitored by the users themselves wherever they are in public or private places. they should be responsible and sensitive enough to consider other people's feelings or reactions towards certain things or sounds coming from cellphones specially. admittedly, ringtones are very pleasant to the ears when modulated and but become more annoying when they are too loud. 'passionate sounds' are meant to be heard privately and should not be played around with many people specially the kids.

I thnk the best ring tone I have ever heard is a foghorn my friend has on her phone. Since we live by the sea, and go for walks along the sea, we are always assuming it IS a foghorn until she pulls it out of her bad. It fools us nearly every time!
