I am going on holiday to America soon and need a new hairstyle. I want something that is basically wash and wear and will be good for an active lifestyle, as well as be able to withstand the heat. I found this hairdo in a beuty magazine. What do you think? Do you have any other suggestions?

The hairdo of the emu? Phew... I guess you might have a hard time trying to maintain it in shape. Personally, I prefer a short crew cut. After wash, no need to comb, dry and style, and need not fear it gets messy and entangled. I just let it dry naturally. One lazy person I am, I know, but I am one simple plain person, afraid of complexities. lol.

I am thinking shorter will be easier too, especially since I hope to spend a lot of time in the water which is going to d a lot of damage to the hair. The Emu's hair looks so fried that not even chlorine would harm it!

lol...this looks good but hard to maintain if you are away for a long time. you can flaunt a short spiky cut or some kinda mushroom or crew cut. these are easy to maintain, doesn't require brushing even if you have a straight hair!! good luck!! PS: by the way, when are you going??

Well, if the emu mohawk doesn't work, how about a shag? Retro is easy and still in style. And if all else fails, do layers. They can't help but make a person look different and most of the time, better.

Well it is emu style or this - Well, here is my current style, which you can imagine does not look good on a pigeon! I need something new!
Well, here is my current style, which you can imagine does not look good on a pigeon! I need something new! Don't worry, it is a royalty free photo, but you get the idea. Throw in some gray hair and childbearing hips and you can see why a Pigeon needs something more updated!

You know, you might be on to something there. I had the ends of my hair cut with one of those razor style many layers and it gave it a lot of bounce. It is so muggy here the last couple of days, any way to reduce the limpness would be a bonus.

Oh lordy, I have so much gray hair that if I dye it any colour it can result in a rainbow effect. Betwen tha and the t-shirts, I am sure everyone would be agog! I am going to San Francisco on Wednesday, so I can't do anything too outrageous. I hear they are very, very uptight and conservative over there!

Fire flower - Here is your now doo
How funny, for some reason I am having trouble down loading my photo so if this is a duplicate I am sorry. You can shave your head and dye a pony tail read with yellow roots. Where in the US are you coming to? Are you coming to California? I would love to meet you if possible.

Lol at the hairstyle on the emu! I agree with the one response here that having your hair long is the easiest. That is how mine is and in the summer there are so many things you can do with it. If your hair is not long enough to put up then I would say a feathered and layered cut and maybe a body wave. The wave will make it easier to style without having to blow dry it.

There is no way I am bothering with a blow dryer, I am an incredibly lazy pigeon. The layered bot sounds good, because I have fine hair.

Personally, I think that the new hairstyle might require some hair gel to keep it in place. It looks like it might be more work then you realize. Perhaps you should go with a nice crew cut or a flat cut. These are a couple of the easiest ways to go. You can shower and run out the door. Another advantage is that when you go swimming you won't have to worry about your hair sticking up or falling flat.

you can use wax, haha, but it makes your hair sticky, but it is wash and wear thing, try it first before you leave, the best way is just bring the blower with you it's very good, you would know already what will happen to your hair when it dries up, wax is quite good, iron or blower will do...but if you are to consider the heat just don't put any sticky gels on your hair, just make it dry...or you can have it ponytailed??!!^^thanks, good..if it's long..
