Are stage moms doing the right thing for their kids?

You've heard about stage moms, right? Those overbearing women that push their kids into acting auditions, beauty competitions and model casting calls whether they like it or not.
Are these moms delusional? Or, do they really see hidden talent in their kids that the rest of us are missing? Do they have their kid's best interest at heart?
Or, are they simply living out their own dreams through their children?

You know women like that make me sick. I was watching a show on this years ago and there was a family who couldent afford there rent because the mom made the pageants more important. She clearly stated that she took the rent money many times and bought a new dress for her daughter for a pageant. I was fourious with her about that. Nothing is more important than paying your rent or house bills in my opnion.
I believe that my kids are beautifull without all the make-up and the beautifull gowns. The thing is Ialso think kids should be kids and be able to be outside playing, and getting dirty. Not getting manicures and facials.

I hate seeing this happen to young children it is not right. In my opinion its the same as the kids in slave camps doing as their told and not being cared about. The women that do this to their kids are awful why would you force you child to do something they hate????

I didn't know that is what they are called but I have watched them on different programs dealing with this kind of thing. I think they are trying to live out their dream through the child. I don't think that they have their child's best interest at heart. I think it is a obsession and the poor kids are the ones who pay the price. Their child hood is not what it should be. All it is is work, work, work. Kids should be able to enjoy their childhood and this doesn't happen because of their mom pushing way to hard.
