In this day and age it seems that noise is all around us. From the moment I get up in the morning till I get home at night. Some days I just want to turn down the volume on the whole world and sit in a rubber walled room with no noise at all. Among the noises that I hate are dentist drills, cars that rattle with a bass beat from bad music, cars with no muffler, yapping of a small dog, screaming ranting junkies and a few other things I can't think of at the moment. Does noise pollution bother you at all?

Everything with a sound which is beyond the normal is already irritating to the ears. I like to listen to music, but I dont like it played so loudly, especially by the drivers of jeepneys, by some teenagers. Talking and laughing so loudly is also irritating to ears. Singing out of tune also irritates my ears.

Yes noise pollution bothers me a lot. I am all for people enjoying themselves but do they need to be this loud all the time? We are having a great day today. people are enjoying themselves outdoors. I cannot. Now I am inside with earplugs and earmuffs due to my neighbours. They play music so loud and do not take turns when talking so they all scream. They have been at it for more than 7 hours. I know it's the eekend and that people are having fun. When do we get a bit of quiet time? Not all day because someone is always working using some kind of powertool. Not at night because someone is always partying.

Noise pollution for me is my biggest irritation in life. I love loud music, but it has to be my own and through headphones. Like you, I want to turn down the cosmic volume and just get some peace & quiet. As I'm typing this, somebody outside is mowing their lawn, and the noise is almost as loud as a jet taking off. That's not the worst type of noise for me though. My most hated noises are screeching kids, neighbours holding loud parties, people constantly clearing their throats, people with a permanent sniff, kids constantly bouncing up & down on mini trampolines, and kids what feels like 24/7 crashing footballs against fences. It's horrible because I live in a fairly rural area, and if the kids are all indoors (where to me they belong LOLOL) and there's nobody outside mowing their lawns or whatever, all I can hear are the birds singing, the breeze in the trees, and the sounds of nature. Those sounds don't bother me at all....they have the opposite effect.
