How much time do you spend working online?

I am just beginning to create an at home online portfolio and am overwhelmed with emails and PTC stuff. I also want to spend time writing. What are some good ways to organize and get through all your sites and emails in order to make this more lucrative? Does anyone have a routine that they follow in order to make the most of their time? Do you follow a certain schedule each day? How do you piece this all together?
