Too wrapped up in the mundane details to enjoy the happy moments

This afternoon my daughter curled up in my lap while I was watching the Veronica Marrs show (rerun). She kept trying to talk and sing to me. And, half the time I was busy trying to get a tangle out of her hair. Then I noticed how intently she was smiling at me, and stopped in my tracks. She was living in the minute, just sitting in my lap and having the time of her life. When I realized that I'd become too wrapped up in the mundane details of life, I put down the hair brush and starting enjoying an amazing, spontaneous moment of joy. So, how was your mom day?
